Opening a new connection

To open a new connection to a BusinessObjects Enterprise system

1. In the Enterprise Repository view, right-click the Servers node, and click New Connection.
2. Enter the following information:
• Connection name, as you want it to appear in the Enterprise Repository view
• CMS name
• User name
• Password
• Authentication type

  Note:    As an added security measure, clear the Save password check box so that the password is not saved with the connection.

3. Click Next.

A list of the default locations for Enterprise applications is displayed.

4. If you are not using one of the default locations, enter the location that you are using.
5. Click Finish.

A new connection to your BusinessObjects Enterprise system is displayed the Enterprise Repository view.

Note:    To make changes to the connection after it has been established, you must disconnect before you edit the connection settings.
