share

Purpose

The scm share subcommand shares one or more directories in the local file system, adding them to Jazz source control in an existing repository workspace, and turning the local directories into local workspaces.

Synopsis

• To run scm share after you have used scm login to create stored credentials:

  scm share  [ -r  |  --repository-uri ] repository URI or nickname { [ -v  |  --verbose ] -reshare } workspace component path...

• To run scm share supplying credentials on the command line:

  scm share [ -r  |  --repository-uri ] repository URI [ -u  |  --username ] user ID in repository [ -P  |  --password ] password for user ID in repository { [ -v  |  --verbose ] -reshare } workspace component path...

Options and arguments

-reshare

If any item in a specified path is already shared, it will be disconnected from the repository workspace and then shared again.

[ -P  |  --password ] password for user ID in repository

The password for the specified user ID in the named repository. If this option is not included on the command line, you are prompted for a password. If you specified a repository URI or nickname for which you have stored credentials using the scm login command, this option is ignored.

[ -r  |  --repository-uri ] repository URI

Specifies the repository in which to take this action. If you have stored repository credentials using the scm login command, you can use the nickname you supplied for these stored credentials

[ -u  |  --username ] user ID in repository

Specifies a user ID that exists in the named repository. If you specified a repository URI or nickname for which you have stored credentials using the scm login command, this option is ignored.

[ -v  |  --verbose ]

Provide additional informational messages while operating.

workspace

The name or UUID of the repository workspace in which to share the specified paths.

component

The name or UUID of the component in which to share the specified paths. The component must exist in the named workspace.

path ...

A space-separated list of path names to share in. All paths must have a common parent directory. Upon successful completion of the share operation, the parent directory becomes a local workspace if it is not one already. Other projects that exist in or are added to the named workspace can be loaded into this local workspace with the scm load command.

Examples
