Supported client environments for Eclipse IDE

Review the supported Rational® Team Concert client environments.

Minimum hardware requirements

  • Processor: Intel® Pentium® 3 or 4 (minimum); Intel Core 2 Duo (recommended)
  • Memory: 1 GB minimum
  • Disk space: 1 GB minimum
  • Display: 1024 x 768 minimum resolution
  • Other hardware: 10/100 mbps wired connectivity or 802.11b

Supported operating systems

The client is supported on the following operating systems:
  • Windows® XP Professional Service Pack 2
  • Windows Vista with Service Pack 1
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux® Desktop 5.0 Update 1
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10.0 with Service Pack 1
Note: Only 32–bit operating systems are supported.

Java™ SE Runtime Environments (JREs)

The client requires one of the following JREs:
  • IBM® Java SDK 5.0 Service Release 7
  • Sun JRE 1.5 Update 14

Eclipse components

The client requires the following Eclipse components:
  • Eclipse 3.3.2
  • Equinox 3.3.2
  • Graphical Editing Framework (GEF) 3.3.2
  • Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) 2.3.2
Note: Ensure that your Eclipse environment includes plug-in development environment (PDE) features.
Note: Client components will also install into IBM Eclipse SDK 3.4 (unsupported).

Instant messaging clients

The client integrates with the following instant messaging clients:
  • IBM Lotus® Sametime® 7.5.1
  • IBM Lotus Sametime 8.0
  • IBM Lotus Sametime 8.0.1

XMPP servers

The client connects to an XMPP server for chat using the XMPP (Jabber) protocol:
  • Jabber Openfire 3.4.1

Web browser

Web browsers supported for use by the Web-based user interface:
  • Mozilla Firefox 2.0
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.0
  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer 7
