Repository Tools overview

The Repository Tools Application is a standalone application that provides a way to manage a Jazz™ repository database.

The Repository Tools Application is intended to be used for performing database migrations. The application is not intended to be used for performing a database backup. Consult your database vendor's documentation for how best perform a backup.

Note: Shutdown and backup the database before using any repotools command that manipulates the database.

Note: Prior to running a repotools command the server must be stopped.

The repotools are located in JazzInstallDir/server.

Note: If you want to run the repotools commands from any other directory, the profiles.ini file in JazzInstallDir/server/provision_profiles must be changed to use an absolute path. See Modifying the profile.ini files.

-addTables
Repotools command that adds tables to a database.
-convertTomcatUsers
Repotools command that converts a tomcat-users.xml file to encrypted passwords.
-clone
Repotools command that creates a clone of a repository.
-copy
Repotools command that copies data from one database to another, via a TAR file.
-createTables
Repotools command used to create empty database tables.
-dropTables
Repotools command used to drop the database tables.
-export
Repotools command used to export the contents of a database to a TAR file.
-import
Repotools command used to import the contents of a TAR file into a new database.
-isServerRunning
Repotools command that indicates whether the Jazz Team Server is running.
-rebuildIndices
Repotools command that rebuilds the database indices.
-rebuildTextIndices
Repotools command that rebuilds the database text indices.
-verify
Repotools command used to verify the integrity of a database
-help
Repotools command that displays the command line help for all repository tools commands.
