Comparing components with baselines, workspaces, and streams

When you compare a component with a baseline, a workspace, or a stream, the Jazz™ Team Server first checks whether or not the component is available in the baseline, workspace, or stream. If the component is available, comparison happens.
Before you compare a component with a workspace or a stream, ensure that the component is available in that workspace or stream.
You can compare a component with baselines, workspaces, or streams either from the Team Artifacts tool window or from the Pending Changes tool window.

To compare a component with baselines, workspaces, or streams:

  1. In the Team Artifacts tool window or in the Pending Changes tool window, right-click a component and point to Compare With.
  2. Select one of the following options:
    • Current Baseline: Compares the component with the current baseline.
    • Baseline: Compares the component with one of the available baselines. In the Select a Baseline window, select a baseline and click Finish.
    • Another Repository Workspace or Stream: Compares the component with a repository workspace or a stream. In the Select a Stream or Workspace window, select a stream or a workspace and click OK.
Now, you can right-click a change set to do the following operations:
  • Associate Work Item: Associates a work item to the change set.
  • Remove Work Item: Removes a work item from the change set.
  • Open in Change Explorer: Opens the change set in the Change Explorer tool window.
