Comparing baselines

When you compare two baselines, the change sets of the components of those baselines are compared. Comparison happens if the component is available in both the baselines.
Before you compare baselines, ensure that both the baselines have same component.
You can compare baselines from the History window. You can compare two baselines with each other or you can compare a baseline with its previous version.

To compare a baseline:

  1. In the Team Artifacts tool window or in the Pending Changes tool window, right-click a component and click Show Baselines.
  2. In the History window, right-click a baseline to do the following operations:
    • Compare with previous: Compares the baseline with its previous version.
    • Baseline: Compares the baseline with another baseline. In the Select a Baseline window, select a baseline and click Finish.
Now, you can right-click a change set to do the following operations:
  • Associate Work Item: Associates a work item to the change set.
  • Remove Work Item: Removes a work item from the change set.
  • Open in Change Explorer: Opens the change set in the Change Explorer tool window.
  • Reverse: Reverses the changes made in the selected change set.
