Grouping work items in iteration plans

You can group work items in an iteration plan by owner, work item categories, tags, planned time, or in custom folders.
To open an iteration plan, expand the Plans folder in the Team Artifacts view and double-click the iteration plan. Click the Planned Items tab. Each group includes a progress indicator and progress report in its heading. Hover over an indicator and press F2 for more information.
When viewing work items on the Planned Items page, you can use the Group by list to group the work items using one of the following criteria:
  • Owner
  • Categories
  • Tags
  • Planned Time
  • Folders
To add or modify custom folders for the Folders option:
  1. Open an iteration plan and click the Planned Items tab.
  2. In the Planned Items sidebar, click Group by > Folders.
  3. Right-click a folder heading on the Planned Items page. Click Folders and one of the options: Add, Rename.
  4. Right-click a folder heading and click and one of the following options to modify the structure of the custom folders:
    • Move Up
    • Move Down
    • Demote
    • Promote
