To calculate a percentage

  1. On the Palette click Summary, and drag the field where you want your data summarized.

    Note: The summary location cannot be Grand Total (Report Footer) when you are calculating a percentage.
  2. On the "Properties" view, click Summarized Field, and click the field for which you want to calculate the sum.
    For example, you may want to insert a field which calculates the sum of last year's sales.
  3. Click Summary Operation, and click Sum.
  4. Set Show as Percent to True.
  5. Click Percentage of, and select the group you want the percentage based on.
    You can choose to show a percentage of a group within another group, or show a percentage of the grand total.
