Installing by using IBM Installation Manager

After obtaining the installation files, start the installation.

About this task

The Rational Workbench for Collaborative Lifecycle Management - Common Server, Rational Team Concert™ client, Build System Toolkit, ClearCase® Synchronizer, ClearQuest® Synchronizer and other incubator files can be downloaded from https://jazz.net/downloads/. To purchase Rational Workbench for CLM, go to http://www.ibm.com/software/awdtools/rtc/, where you can download an installable image or order a DVD.
There are two methods to install Rational Workbench for CLM by using IBM® Installation Manager. Download one of the following installation packages.
  • Installation Manager Web Install: (separate download for each platform) This archive file contains the Installation Manager launchpad program and the predefined installation repository locations. The benefit of using the Web install package is that it reduces the size of initial download and the installation process downloads only the resources you choose to install.
Note: The Web install requires an Internet connection during the installation process.
  • Local Install Repository: This archive file contains a local copy of all the installable resources. The benefit of using the local install package is that it allows the installation to proceed without an Internet connection. To install using this method, extract the archive file to a temp directory. Start IBM Installation Manager. Select File > Preferences, click Add Repository and browse for the repository.config file in the directory that you extracted the archive file. Click OK to close the Preferences window and click Install to start the installation. Continue your installation form step 4 in the following procedure.
