Viewing build results

After requesting a build, you can check its progress and whether the build was successful. You can also view the build details such as log files and work items associated with the build.

About this task

To view the build results:

In the Team Artifacts window, expand the project area node, and navigate to Builds > Build Definitions.
Right-click the build name, and click Show Build Results.

What to do next

Now, you can do the following tasks:

View build details	Right-click a build and click Open or in the Team Artifacts window, right-click a build name, and click Open Latest Build Details.. The build details opens in the Web UI.
View work items included in a build	Right-click a build and click Show Work Items > Included in the Build
View work items reported against the build	Right-click a build and click Show Work Items > Reported against the Build
Compare a build with a repository workspace or stream	Right-click a build and click Compare with other Workspace or Stream, type a string to search a workspace or stream, select it, and click OK.
Compare two builds	Select the builds, right-click and click Compare
Compare a build with the latest available in a stream	Right-click a build and click Compare with Latest in Stream
Create a new stream from a build result	Right-click a build and click New Stream from Build.. For more information on creating new stream, see Creating streams topic.
Create a new repository workspace from a build result	Right-click a build and click New Repository Workspace from Build. Type the workspace name and a brief description and click Finish
Compare a build with its previous build	Right-click a build and click Show Changes
Abandon a running build	Right-click a build and click Abandon
Cancel a pending build	Right-click a build and click Cancel Build Request
Delete a build	Right-click a build and click Delete
Tag a build	Right-click a build and click Tag Build, type a name, and click OK.
Associate a work item	Right-click a build and click Associate work item, type a work item ID, select it and click OK.
