1.0 Overview
This document describes how to install IBM® WebSphere® Application Server V6.0 Integrated Test Environment Update (V6.0.2.5) for IBM Rational® Application Developer, IBM Rational Web Developer or IBM Rational Software Architect by using IBM Rational Product Updater.
You should use Rational Product Updater to install this update directly from the IBM update server; however, you can also download a ZIP file that contains this update and then use
Rational Product Updater to perform local installations. The following sections describe how to install this update.
2.0 Installation prerequisites
To install the update directly from the IBM update server, you will require 1.3 GB of disk space.
If you download, extract, and install the update from a ZIP file, you will require 2.6 GB of disk space.
Before you can install this update, you must install IBM Rational Product Updater 6.0.1. In Rational Product Updater, if you use the default update site preferences,
IBM Rational Product Updater 6.0.1 is automatically installed when you search for updates or optional features. However, if you changed the default update site preferences
by clicking Preferences > Update Sites, you must restore the default settings before you can install the update.
Also, before you can install this update, you must install the WebSphere Application Server V6.0 Integrated Test Environment
feature for IBM Rational Application Developer, IBM Rational Web Developer or IBM Rational
Software Architect.
For information on installing the WebSphere Application Server V6.0 Integrated Test Environment feature, refer to the installation instructions for your Rational product.
The installation instructions are located at:
- install_dir\rad_prod\install.html for Rational Application Developer
- install_dir\rwd_prod\install.html for Rational Web Developer
- install_dir\rsa_prod\install.html for Rational Software Architect
where install_dir is the directory where you
installed the Rational product.
If you disabled any product features by modifying the feature.xml files or through the Update Manager by clicking Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration, you must enable them before you install this update.
3.0 Installing the update

Restrictions:
- The product cannot be open when you install this update.

- Manually update the test environment to V6.0.2.5. For information on manually updating the WebSphere Application Server V6.0 Integrated Test Environment, refer to
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21199423.
- Uninstall the updates that you manually installed, and then you can install this update.
