Customizing the import map

To create a customized map file to import IBM® Rational® System Architect elements into a Rational Rhapsody® project, edit the exiting maps or create one within the map file.

Before you begin

The external map file ties Rational System Architect elements to IBM Rational Rhapsody elements and allows the users to analyze and adjust the imported data. Rational Rhapsody supplies three sample map files to use or modify:
  • Default mapping sample imports diagrams as Rational Rhapsody object model diagrams.
  • SA DODAF (Non ABM) to Rhapsody DODAF imports DODAF elements to comparable elements in Rational Rhapsody DODAF and imports any unmapped diagrams as object model diagrams.
  • SA SV1 DODAF (Non ADM) to Rhapsody SysML illustrates the mapping used to import an SV1 diagram into a Rational Rhapsody SysML project.
For more information about the contents of the sample map files, see Rational System Architect type mappings to Rational Rhapsody.
