If you encountered problems while installing the product
or the installation failed, review this list of common installation
problems and their possible solutions.
The following common problems might be
encountered when installing IBM® Rational® Rhapsody®:
- If you were unable to complete the prerequisite
steps, especially installing the compiler first, you can do it now.
Install the compiler on your machine, and then run the setup program
for Rational Rhapsody again.
Access the Program Maintenance window and select
the Modify option. See the related topic on
modifying, repairing, or removing Rational Rhapsody.
For more information about the prerequisite steps, see the topic on
planning the installation.
- Make sure that the path to your compiler is set correctly in Rational Rhapsody.
For example:
- If you have Cygwin, open Cygwinmake.bat in <Rational
Rhapsody installation path>\Share\etc and make
sure the Path command is pointing to your Cygwin
installation. For example: PATH=C:\cygwin\bin;%PATH%.
- If you have Microsoft Visual
Studio 6, open msmake.bat in <Rational
Rhapsody installation path>\Share\etc and make
sure the Call command is pointing to your Visual
Studio 6 installation. For example: call "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Visual Studio\VC98\bin\VcVars32.bat" x86.
- If you have Microsoft Visual
Studio 2008 or 2010, open ms9make.bat in <Rational
Rhapsody installation path>\Share\etc and make
sure the Call command is pointing to your applicable Microsoft Visual Studio installation.
For example: call "%VS2008_PATH%\VC\bin\VcVars32.bat" x86.
- If you had installation errors, try to repair your installation.
Run the setup program again to access the Program Maintenance window
and select the Repair option. See the topic
on modifying, repairing, or removing Rational Rhapsody.
