You can
customize IBM® Rational® Rhapsody® in
the following ways:
- Add helper applications
(also know as helpers).
Helpers are custom programs that you attach to the product to extend
its functionality. They can be either external programs or Visual
Basic for Applications (Visual Basic for Applications) macros that
typically use the Rational Rhapsody COM
API. They connect to a Rational Rhapsody object
with the GetObject() COM service.
- Use
Visual Basic for Applications (Visual Basic
for Applications), an OEM version of Microsoft Visual Basic to develop automation
and extensibility scripts that interact with the tool repository that
provides a full complement of user interface components ("forms").
- Create a customized profile to use in the models
for your company. A customized profile has the following advantages:
- Contains terminology specific to your company
- Forces adherence to special requirements or industry
standards
- Can be reused in other models to
simplify and standardize
development efforts
- Add new element
types to your models.
- Create a customized diagram.
- Customize the Add New menu.
- Create
a Rational Rhapsody plug‑in.
