Starting the Rational Rhapsody DiffMerge interface by using the command line

The IBM® Rational® Rhapsody® DiffMerge command-line interface (CLI) supports all Rational Rhapsody DiffMerge features including automatically accepting all trivial, non‑conflicting differences for a merge operation (except where noted).

About this task

The CLI can also be started from IBM Rational ClearCase® to execute the same tasks that can be executed using the Rational Rhapsody DiffMerge interface, as described previously.

Developers use Rational Rhapsody DiffMerge command-line interface to create batch files that start the Rational Rhapsody DiffMerge command‑line interface and automate some of the tasks associated with software development, particularly scheduled nightly builds.

Procedure

  1. Open a command‑line prompt window.
  2. Change the command-line path to the IBM Rational Rhapsody installation folder.
  3. Type Diffmerge.exe and press the Enter key to open the Rational Rhapsody DiffMerge window.

Results

This interface provides all the features available for two‑way and base‑aware comparisons.
