Controlled files, such as project specifications
files (created, for example, in Microsoft Word
or Microsoft Excel) are
typically added to a Rational Rhapsody project for reference purposes
and can be controlled through the product.
Once
you create a controlled file in Rational Rhapsody, you can use their
features.
- A controlled file can be a file of any type (for
example, .doc, .txt, and .xls files).
- Controlled files can be added into the project
from the browser in Rational Rhapsody.
- Controlled files can be added to diagrams with
drag-and-drop from the browser.
- Only Tag and Dependency features can be added to
a controlled file.
- By default, all controlled files are opened by
their Windows-default programs (for example, Microsoft Excel for .xls files).
- The programs associated with controlled files can
be changed through the Properties tab in the
controlled files window.
To see how to use controlled files, look at the
"Cars" C++ sample (available in <product installation
folder>\Samples\CppSamples\Cars).
