Documentation

Documentation generators are Microsoft WordŽ and OpenDocument compliant authoring tool based templates.

A doc template specifies the information to generate in a Microsoft WordŽ file or OpenDocument text file as well as the name of the file. A doc template can have parameters that are used to derive the dynamic contents based on the specific model under consideration.

Doc templates use DocGen to define generated contents, with the Model Query Language (MQL) used to access the dynamic information from the parameters.

Prerequisites
Edit and View Editing a doc template requires either:
  • Microsoft Office 2007 or higher for .docx files
  • Microsoft Office WordŽ 2003 or higher for .xml files
  • Open Document compliant authoring tool (e.g. OpenOffice, IBM Lotus Symphony, Google Docs, etc.) for .odt files
Generate Running a doc template generation is a standalone process and does not require authoring tool at all.
