Storing an existing package in a separate directory

You can set it so that when an existing flat package is converted to a package as directory (you selected the Store in separate Directory check box on the Unit Information window IBM® Rational® Rhapsody®), the directory is created on the configuration management side and the package with its children move to this directory.

About this task

Batch mode SCC mode
Set the ConfigurationManagement::ClearCase::StoreInSeparateDirectoryActivation property. You can set the property so that Rational Rhapsody automatically creates the directory on the configuration management side and the package with its children move to this directory, or the product prompts the user to confirm the action requested before doing anything. Set the following properties, depending on the configuration management tool you use:
  • If you are using IBM Rational ClearCase®, set ConfigurationManagement::SCC::StoreInSeparateDirectoryActivation and ConfigurationManagement::General::UseHybridModeWhenPossible. You can set the StoreInSeparateDirectoryActivation property so that Rational Rhapsody automatically creates the directory on the configuration management side and the package with its children move to this directory, or the product prompts the user to confirm the action requested before doing anything.
  • If you are using IBM Rational Synergy, set ConfigurationManagement::SCC::StoreInSeparateDirectoryActivation. You can set the property so that Rational Rhapsody automatically creates the directory on the configuration management side and the package with its children move to this directory, or the product prompts the user to confirm the action requested before doing anything.
