Upgrading the Rational Rhapsody plug-in for Eclipse

If you use the IBM® Rational® Rhapsody® plug-in for Eclipse, whenever you upgrade to a newer version of Rational Rhapsody, you must also upgrade the plug-in.

Procedure

  1. Check if your existing Eclipse version is still supported by your upgraded version of Rational Rhapsody. See the release notes for the product and follow the link to the release information for Rational Rhapsody.
  2. Open Eclipse and remove your current Rational Rhapsody plug-in.

For example, if you have Eclipse 3.5, select Help > About Eclipse SDK, click the Installation Details button, on the Installed Software tab, select the Rational Rhapsody plug-in, and then click Uninstall and complete the uninstall process.

  3. Connect the Rational Rhapsody plug-in that is provided with the newer version of Rational Rhapsody.

For example, if you have Eclipse 3.5, select Help > Install New Software, click the Add button and add a local site that points to the Eclipse subfolder in your Rational Rhapsody installation path, on the Available Software window, select the plug-in you want, and complete the installation process for the plug-in.
