If your company uses variations of the software to create a software
product line, you can use the IBM® Rational® Rhapsody® component
variants with variation points to manage the reuse of common components
and generate code for the product line.
Creating variation points
To create a software product line, identify the IBM Rational Rhapsody components
that are the variation points for the system. A variation point is
a point of choice on some Rational Rhapsody elements
that imply products might differ with respect to those elements.
Defining variants
You can define one variant for each variation point.
