You can set it so that when an existing flat package is
converted to a package as directory (you selected the Store in
separate Directory check box on the Unit Information window IBM® Rational® Rhapsody®),
the directory is created on the configuration management side and
the package with its children move to this directory.

Set the following properties, depending on the configuration
management tool you use:- If you are using IBM Rational ClearCase®,
set ConfigurationManagement::SCC::StoreInSeparateDirectoryActivation and ConfigurationManagement::General::UseHybridModeWhenPossible.
