Add Doc Template schema in Word

To enable the usage of Doc Templates, you must add the Doc Template XML schema in Microsoft WordŽ:

  1. Open Microsoft WordŽ
  2. Open the Schema Library dialog:
    Microsoft Word 2007
    1. Click the Microsoft Office Button and then click Word Options
    2. Click Popular, and then under Top options for working with Word, select the Show Developer tab in the Ribbon check box
    3. On the Developer tab, in the XML group, click Schema.
    Microsoft Word 2003
    1. Click Tools > Templates and Add-Ins
    2. Click XML Schema tab
    3. Click Schema Library...

     
  3. Add the doc template schema:
     
    1. Click Add Schema...
    2. Select the file doctemplate.xsd, in the directory <MDWorkbench Dir>\eclipse\plugins\com.sodius.mdw.core_<version>
    3. Type doctemplate in the Alias field
    4. Click OK
  4. Click OK to validate the schema
     
  5. Click OK to close the Template and Add-Ins dialog.

In addition, you should configure Microsoft WordŽ to display XML tags:

  1. Show the XML Structure view:
    Microsoft Word 2007
    1. On the Developer tab, in the XML group, click Structure.
    Microsoft Word 2003
    1. Click View > Task Pane
    2. Select XML Structure in the Task Pane title bar

     
  2. Click Show XML tags in the document

You may then close Microsoft WordŽ. You don't need to save the empty Word document.
