If you update both the file system and model, a model/configuration
management synchronization problem might result (some of the units
might lose their "configuration management history," some units cannot
be checked in because they are not recognized as configuration management
elements, and so on). In addition, you must execute maintenance operations
on the configuration management tool outside of IBM® Rational® Rhapsody® to
synchronize the changes on the hard disk drive with the configuration
management system.
The benefit of this option is that the model structure,
as seen in the browser in Rational Rhapsody,
matches the physical layout on the hard disk drive. Therefore, this
option requires more work to implement, but results in a better organized
system that is less likely to cause problems in the future.
To set this option as default, set the ConfigurationManagement::General::CMConflictResolution property
to ModelAndFileSystem.
