An item flow is an abstraction of all kinds
of information that can be exchanged between objects. It does not
specify the structure, type, or nature of the represented data. You
provide details about the information being passed by defining the
classifiers that are represented by the item flow.
Item flows can be decomposed into more specific
flow. You can start in a high level of abstraction and gradually refine
it by representing the item flow with more specific items.
An item flow can represent either pure data, data
instantiation, or commands (events). Item flows can represent the
following elements:
- Classes
- Types
- Events
- Other information items
- Attributes and variables
- Parts and objects
- Relations
