Pre-installation tasks on Linux systems

You must do some pre-installation tasks before you install IBM® Rational® Rhapsody® on a Linux system, such as apply operating system patches.

Before installing the product on a Linux system, you need to perform the following tasks:

  1. Apply operating system patches (if necessary).
  2. Mount the CD-ROM, if you are not using automount.
  3. Copy files to the installation directory.
Note: The Rational Rhapsody DoDAF, MODAF, and UPDM profiles are supported on Linux. However, some products are not automatically generated. The OV-3, SV-3, SV-5, SV-6, and SV-7 products must be generated manually.
