Collaborating with another workspace

In addition to sharing work by delivering changes to and accepting changes from a stream, you can collaborate with a team member by accepting change sets from that team member's repository workspace.
About this task

To collaborate with another workspace, add it as a flow target of your workspace.

  1. In the Pending Changes or Team Artifacts view, right-click your repository workspace and click Open.
  2. Navigate to the Flow Targets area of the Repository Workspace editor. All of the workspace's flow targets are listed. The default flow target is distinguished by the string (default). The current flow target (which is typically the default flow target) is distinguished by the string (current).
  3. Click Add in the Flow Targets area.
  4. In the Select a Stream or Workspace window, select Show Workspaces. If the workspace you want to add is not displayed, you can enter a text string that will be used to search for it. If you are not sure of the name of the workspace but know the name of its owner, you can enter the owner's name to see a list of workspaces associated with that owner.
  5. Select the workspace from the Matching items list and click OK.
  6. Select the workspace in the Flow Targets section and click Set Current.
  7. Click Save to save your changes.
Results

The workspace you want to collaborate with becomes the current flow target of your workspace. If any component in your workspace contains change sets that are not present in the current flow target, those change sets appear in the component's Outgoing folder. If the current flow target contains change sets that are not present in a component in your workspace, those change sets appear in the component's Incoming folder.

What to do next

When you finish collaborating with your team member's workspace, change your repository workspace's current flow target back to the default, such as the stream that your team uses. For more information, see Adding and removing workspace flow targets.
