Getting started with Collaborative ALM

Collaborative Application Lifecycle Management (C/ALM) provides integrations across Jazz-based products to connect the work of analysts with development and test teams.

You can integrate IBM® Rational Team Concert™ with IBM Rational Quality Manager and IBM Rational Requirements Composer. A Rational Quality Manager user can link a test case or a test plan with a Rational Team Concert work item. A Rational Requirements Composer user can link a requirement to a work item.

To enable C/ALM integrations, you must configure communication between the Jazz™ Team Servers of the products that you integrate. You then establish links between project areas on each of the Jazz Team Servers.

Within Rational Team Concert, you can run queries for artifacts stored in another repository. For example, if cross-server communication is configured between Rational Team Concert and Rational Quality Manager, you can query for defects that are blocking tests, or plan items that have been tested successfully.

You can also use dashboards to display information from other repositories. You do this by adding viewlets from the other repositories.
