Testing host name resolution

Verify that the agent host can be reached. Use the ping utility to test the agent host:
ping hostname
This example session runs on Windows® on which the agent is installed.
C:\> ping localhost

Pinging somehost.city.company.com [127.0.0.1] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
A message similar to the following one indicates a problem:
Unknown host
The problem lies in the network configuration. Contact your network administrator.
