Language definitions are created and maintained by a build administrator and stored in the Jazz™ repository to be used during a build. Each buildable file within a zComponent Project is associated with a language definition that contains multiple steps, called translators, that are performed on a file during a build.
You can create language definitions for a project area, and you can use the same language definition for several buildable files. For example, one CICS® COBOL language definition can be associated with all of your CICS COBOL source files. You can create, view, or modify language definitions from the Language Definitions node in the Rational Team Concert™ for System z® Team Artifacts navigator, or you can create a new language definition by selecting .
A language definition contains one or more translators. You can create or modify translators either from the Translators node in the Rational Team Concert for System z Team Artifacts navigator, or by selecting .
