Using the ClearCase Bridge to Rational Team Concert

Rational Team Concert™ includes a ClearCase® Connector that supports associations between Jazz work items and Rational® ClearCase UCM activities using the ClearCase Bridge.
Edition note: The feature described here applies to Rational Team Concert Standard edition and Enterprise edition only.

The ClearCase Connector supports the ClearCase Bridge, which allows you to integrate ClearCase source control with Rational Team Concert so that you can take advantage of work items and other change management functionality without having to use Rational Team Concert source control.

If you have the Rational ClearCase Remote Client version 7.1.0.2 or later installed into the same eclipse shell as your installation of Rational Team Concert version 2.0 or later, the ClearCase Bridge allows you to create associations, or links, between work items and UCM activities. Associations can be made from the context of an activity, and once you create a link between a work item and an activity, you can navigate from one to the other. A work item can be linked to multiple activities and an activity can be linked to multiple work items. You can remove a link from the context of the work item or the activity.

You can view the associated activity and the activity properties in the same way that you would typically access them using the Rational ClearCase Remote Client. For example, the Rational ClearCase Remote Client requires that you are connected to a ClearCase server in order to access activity information. If you click on an activity link in a work item and you have not connected to a ClearCase server during the current session, you are prompted to connect before you can view the activity information.

Restriction: If you have the Rational ClearCase Remote Client versions 7.1 or 7.1.0.1, you cannot create associations but you can view a linked activity.

Linkage information is stored in the Jazz repository.
