Requesting a build in the Web client

You can request a build in the Web client. You can also change build properties or request a personal build that does not impact the build definition status and that runs on a workspace that you specify.
Before you begin
You must be logged in to the Web client.
About this task
To request a build:
  1. In the Web client, in a project area, click the Builds tab.
  2. In the Build Artifacts pane, click Build Definitions.
  3. On the Build Definitions page, click a build definition.
  4. On the build definition page, in the top right corner, click the Request Build icon.
  5. Optional: To request a personal build that does not impact the build definition status and that runs on a repository workspace that you specify, in the Build Options area, select Personal Build. If required, update the Repository workspace field.
Note: Personal builds are only available when the build definition editor has Rational Team Concert™ source control configured. Personal builds do not accept incoming changes, even if the option to accept incoming changes is enabled in the build definition.
  6. Optional: To change build properties, edit the Build Properties fields to update the build property names and values in the list, or use the Add button or Remove button to add or remove properties.
Note: You cannot change required build properties. You specify required build properties when you define a build.
  7. Click Submit.
