When you compare two baselines, the change sets of the
components of those baselines are compared.
Before you begin
Before you compare baselines, ensure that both the baselines
have same component.
About this task
A comparison of two baselines compares the
change sets they contain and displays a list of change sets that are
in one baseline but not the other. You can compare or annotate individual
files in the change sets to see more detail about the scope of the
differences.
To
compare two baselines:
Procedure
- Navigate to the component whose baselines you want to compare.
Typically, components are available in the Team Artifacts window, Pending
Changes window, and History window.
- Select the baselines to compare. There are several
kinds of comparisons that you can make:
- To compare any two baselines of the component, right-click
the component and click Show baselines to open
a History window of the component baselines.
In the History window, you can right click a
baseline, click Compare With Baseline, and
then select a baseline to compare it with. You can also click two
baselines and then click Compare.
- To compare a component with its most recent baseline, right-click
the component and click Compare With, then
select Current baseline.
- To compare a component with any of its baselines, right-click
the component and click Compare With, then
select Baseline and select a baseline to compare
it with in the Select a Baseline window. If
you want to view all baselines, click Clear Filter.
If you want to view baselines of a particular workspace or stream,
click Filter, type a string for workspace or
stream, and click OK.
- To compare the current baseline with the state of a component
in another repository workspace or stream, right-click the component
and click Compare With, then select Another
Repository Workspace or Stream.
