Installing the client into Eclipse v3.5.x (p2 install)
You can install the Rational Team Concert™ client
into Eclipse v3.5.x from the Help > Install New Software menu in Eclipse.
About this task
The Client for Eclipse 3.5.x (p2 Install) is a .zip
file that uses an Eclipse update site (or p2 repository) to get Rational Team Concert client
features, bundles, and its EMF and GEF dependencies.
Extract the .zip file to a directory. For example, C:\dev\eclipse-rtc.
Double-click the eclipse.exe executable
file in C:\dev\eclipse-rtc\eclipse to open it.
You need a v1.5 Java Virtual Machine (JVM) in your path for
this to work. If needed, you can add the JVM path to the C:\dev\eclipse-rtc\eclipse\eclipse.ini file
by adding the following two lines to the file just before vmargs:
Extract the .zip file to a directory. For example, C:\dev.
It extracts to C:\dev\rtc-p2-repository.
Start Eclipse and select Help > Install New Software.
In the Available Software window, click Add. In
the Add Site window, click Local and navigate to the rtc-p2-repository folder
that you extracted in step 5. Click OK.
In the next window, ensure that Group items by category and Contact
all update sites are selected. Select Rational Team Concert and
optionally select one or both NLS categories to install the language
packs.
Click Next, then Next again in the Install
Details window.
After you accept the terms of the license agreement, click Finish. A security warning window opens during the installation
because the Rational Team Concert client
bundles and features are not signed. Click OK to complete the
installation. Click Yes when prompted to restart at the end
of the installation.
