Team release plan

A Team Release plan provides a high-level overview of the work associated with a team of an iteration and its child iterations. You can create a Team Release plan for any iteration. A Team Release plan that is associated with an iteration displays all the work items of that iteration and all the top-level work items of its child iterations.
Note: If you follow the Scrum process template, a Team Release plan is called a Team Backlog.
By default, a Team Release plan groups work items based on the following plan modes:

If you want to see all the work items of a child iteration, right-click a child iteration and click Open Plan for.

Team Load section

Being part of the Team Central view, the Team Load section shows load bars for a selected team and iteration. A load bar is a graphic representation of work load - the ratio of remaining work and available work time.

A load bar is green if there is still time to complete all the work, and red when there isn't. Because the computation depends on work item estimates, the percentages of estimated work items is shown as a fill level. You want the bar to be green: get the right amount of work assigned and the bar grows horizontally; estimate well and the bar grows vertically.

Use the Team Load section when distributing work among team members. In this view, not only you can see the work load of each team member, but you can also reassign work items by dragging them onto the corresponding bar. In the Team Load section, right-click and select Show Work Items, Show Current Work, or Show Recent Work to query the work items assigned to a particular person.
