Repository Tools command-line reference

The Repository Tools Application is a stand-alone application that provides a way to manage a Jazz™ repository database.

The Repository Tools Application is primarily intended to be used for performing database migrations. The application is not intended to be used for performing a database backup, but you can perform certain server backup operations against a live server. Consult your database vendor documentation for how best perform a backup.

Notes:
  1. Shutdown and backup the database before using any repotools command that perform system maintenance operations.
  2. Before running a repotools command, the server must be stopped.
The repotools are located in JazzInstallDir/server.
Note: If you want to run the repotools commands from any other directory, you must change the *.ini files in JazzInstallDir/server/conf/jazz/provision_profiles to use an absolute path. For example, change url=file:./update-site to url=file:/opt/IBM/JazzTeamServer/server/update-site on UNIX® and url=file:c:\program files\IBM\JazzTeamServer\server\update-site on Windows®.
On z/OS®, the repotools application is started with Job Control Language (JCL.) A number of sample JOBs are provided for the most often used Repository Tools functions. These jobs are found in the hlq.SBLZSAMP data set created by your SMP/E installation. The member names are:
Member name Repository Tools function
BLZCRED2 -createTables (for Derby)
BLZCREDB -createTables (for DB2® on z/OS)
BLZEXPO2 -export (for Derby)
BLZEXPOR -export (for DB2 on z/OS)
BLZIMPO2 -import (for Derby)
BLZIMPOR -import (for DB2 on z/OS)
If you want to run other repository tools functions, you can copy one of the existing System z® sample JCL members. Modify the copied member by changing the //MAINARGS DD statement to correspond to the Repository Tools function you want to run on z/OS.
