Creating a Rational Team Concert for System z language definition

Before you begin this task, you must create a Rational Team Concert™ for System z® project area.
Restriction: Before you can create, modify, or delete a language definition, you must have permission to make these modifications. Permissions can be managed from the Project Configuration node on the Process Configuration tab in the Project Area editor.
You can create a new language definition one of two ways: from the Language Definitions node in the Rational Team Concert for System z Team Artifacts navigator, or with the Language Definition wizard: Select File > New > Other > Language Definition.

The following task describes how to create a new language definition from the Language Definitions node in the Rational Team Concert for System z Team Artifacts navigator.

  1. After you log in to Rational Team Concert for System z, open the Team Artifacts view.
  2. Expand the Team node.
  3. Right-click the Language Definitions node and select New Language Definition. The Jazz™ Project Area window in the Language Definition wizard opens.

  6. In the Language field, indicate a language (code) that your language definition should use. You can fill in the other fields, but they are optional.
Note: You can also select one or more translators, or specify a particular build property to associate with your new language definition that will call on a particular translator when you run a build. These options are available when you click Add in the Translators field of the Language Definition wizard.
  7. Click Save to save your new language definition.
You can also duplicate any language definition. To do this, perform the following steps:

  5. In the Name field, give your duplicate language definition a name.
  6. Click OK to duplicate the language definition or Cancel to stop.
  7. Your new duplicate language definition should be displayed under the Language Definitions node. If it does not, refresh the view.
