If you want to run the command line interface (CLI) from
a location other than the installation directory, you must add scm to
the PATH environment variable. You can set this
variable using a command like this: export PATH=$PATH:/u/smith/scmtools/eclipse.
You can also set the PATH variable for all users
in /etc/profile, or in $HOME/.profile,
where $HOME is the home directory
of a specific user.
To use the CLI with Rational Team Concert™ for System z®, you must set the JAVA_HOME environment
variable to a directory that contains a 1.5 software development kit
(SDK). You can set this variable using a command like this: export
JAVA_HOME=/u/smith/java/J5.0. You can also set the JAVA_HOME variable
for all users in /etc/profile , or in $HOME/.profile,
where $HOME is the home directory
of a specific user.
If you use the CLI on z/OS®, you must log in with a region size that
is large enough to run a Java™ Virtual
Machine (JVM). This is usually 1000 MB, so you must specify a region
size of at least 1000000.
Note: You cannot use commas in the region
size value on the z/OS CLI
login page.
