Viewing annotations

You can see an annotated view of any file in the repository. Annotations associated with a line or group of lines in the file show who added or changed the lines, when the change was made, and any comments or work items associated with the change.
About this task

From any context that supports selection of a repository file, you can view that file in a read-only Eclipse editor window that shows annotations. At the left margin of that window, vertical bars of different colors indicate lines associated with a specific change set. Move your mouse cursor over a bar to see the annotation associated with the change.

To see an annotated view of a file:

  1. List the file name from any context that supports the Show Repository Files action. Contexts that support this action include selecting a component in the Pending Changes or Team Artifacts view, or selecting a change set in the History view of a component.
  2. Right-click the file name and click Annotate.
Results

An annotated view of the file is displayed in the Eclipse editor area, and file's history is displayed in the History view. You can click the + and - icons in the left margin to expand or collapse individual changes.
