You can create a Jazz™ report from an installed template.
Templates include the report design and typically have variables that
you can modify to further customize the report. When you create a
report you can share it or make it a personal report.
About this task
License note: To perform the
task described here, you must be assigned the
Developer Client Access License.
Starting Rational Team Concert 2.0.0.1, Contributors can also deploy
and manage report templates and create their own reports from those
templates.
Tip: Report templates can be designed (using BIRT tools) and
installed by any contributor with the appropriate permissions. The Jazz Team
Reports component provides a set of pre-defined reports for key areas
of the Jazz technology
platform,
depending on which components are currently installed in your product
configuration.
To create a report from an installed template:
- In the Team Artifacts view, expand
the Reports node under your Project Area.
- Expand the Report Templates node
and select the template that you want to work with.
- Right-click the template and select Create Report.
- In the dialog, select the destination folder (for example, My
Reports or Shared) and press OK. Now the report will show up in that folder in the Team
Artifacts view.
Tip: The sharing of the report
is determined by the folder where you save it. The folder can be shared
with a project area or a team area. Right-click the folder and modify
the properties to change the sharing scope.
- Modify your report's parameters. Right-click the report
and select Open.
If the report
template provides modifiable parameters, use the report editor to
customize the parameters. For example, a report might allow you to
specify a specific team area or iteration as the scope of the report.
- Click the Click to edit parameters button in the top right corner of the
report to open the parameters section.
- Modify the parameters.
- Click Run to preview the report.
- Repeat the previous two steps until the desired report
is produced. When you are done editing, click Save to
save the report.
What to do next
After you save the new report, you can access
it in the
My Reports or
Shared Reports folder
in the Eclipse client's
Team Artifacts view
or in the Web client
Reports menu.
