Changing help access from Web-based to intranet-based content

You can change the way that you access help content from an IBM Web site to a server on your intranet.

Before you begin

The help content must be installed on an intranet server and you must have the Web address for that server before you can change access from Web-based to an intranet-based help system. Close the help browser before you change the way that you access help content.

About this task

During the installation process, you chose Access help from the Web. To change to help access from an intranet server, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Click Windows > Preferences. The Preferences window opens.
  2. Expand the Help entry, and then click Content. A list displaying the currently configured information center or centers opens.
  3. Disable the link to the internet site by selecting the Web address in the Contents list, and then clicking Disable.
  4. Click Add; then name the intranet connection, specify the intranet Web address for the server that contains the help content, and then click OK.
