A variety of viewlets can be added to a dashboard from
one or more remote repositories.
About this task
Jazz Foundation supplies a number of general viewlets that
you can add to a dashboard. Products that are built on Jazz can contribute
an additional set of viewlets that are specific to that product's
functionality. All available viewlets in a repository are displayed
together in the viewlet chooser. In addition to adding viewlets from
the repository on the dashboard's host
Jazz™ Team Server,
you can also add viewlets from remote repositories on friendly
Jazz Team Servers.
Viewlets from local and remote repositories can be added to the same
dashboard.
What to do next
After you add a viewlet, you can modify its content, scope
(if applicable), appearance, and location on the dashboard. Save all
changes before closing the dashboard.
When you are logged in
to the Jazz Team Server that
hosts the remote repository, all viewlets that you have added from
that repository display their contents. Once you are no longer logged
in to the server, the viewlets do not display their contents. Instead,
each viewlet displays a Log In link, which
you can click to open a login window for the associated server.
Once you are
logged in, the contents of all viewlets associated with that remote
repository are refreshed and displayed.
