Upgrading synchronization streams when migrating from Rational Team Concert version 1.x

When migrating from Rational Team Concert version 1.x, you must upgrade your ClearCase® Synchronized Streams in order for synchronizations to continue running correctly.

Before you begin

Install the new version of the ClearCase Connector but do not start the synchronization engine process.

About this task

All ClearCase Synchronized Streams that were created in previous versions of Rational Team Concert™ must be upgraded before you can complete migration to Rational Team Concert version 2.0. If you do not upgrade a ClearCase Synchronized Stream, synchronizations attempts will fail for that stream.

The ccc upgradeSyncStream subcommand can be used to upgrade ClearCase Synchronized Streams in all team and process areas of which the logged-in user is a member. This subcommand must be run on the synchronization host.

Procedure

  1. On each synchronization host, open a command line interface and run the ccc upgradeSyncStream command. To specify which streams to upgrade when running this command, enter a list of stream names or use the --locallySyncd option to upgrade all synchronized streams that are synchronized on the current host. For each synchronization stream specified, the ccc upgradeSyncStream command changes the default buildkind from ant to the command line and copies the credentials file for the synchronization engine to each stream's specific subdirectory.
  2. After all ClearCase Synchronized Streams are upgraded, start the synchronization engine process.
