Loading a component root folder

You can create a repository tree structure in Rational Team Concert source control to match a structure in Rational ClearCase by setting up a shared component root.

About this task

A Rational Team Concert component has a root folder that can contain files and folders. Typically, the component contains a set of folders and it is these folders that are loaded as share roots on the client file system. However, to accurately reflect Rational ClearCase VOB structure, the Rational Team Concert component root folder must itself be loaded as a share root. The component root folder can have the same name or a different name than the ClearCase component root. You can accomplish this by completing one of the following procedures.

Rational Team Concert component root folder name is the same as ClearCase component name

Before you begin

Import files and folders from Rational ClearCase.

About this task

Load a ClearCase component root as a shared Rational Team Concert root folder with the same name as the component by completing the following steps.

Procedure

  1. In the Team Artifacts view, expand the workspace that contains the component, right-click the component entry and select Load.
  2. Select Browse the components to select the folders to be loaded and click Next.
  3. In the Repository Folders to load window, click the checkbox next to the component root until a checkmark appears only in that checkbox and all child checkboxes are empty.
  4. In the Advanced Options area, specify a sandbox path and choose a load option as appropriate.
  5. Click Finish.
