Adding the synchronization process account to your team area

Before you create a ClearCase® Synchronized Stream, you must add the synchronization process account to your team area.

About this task

The synchronization process account must be a member of the team area in which you want to create the synchronized stream. The account must have process permissions to create workspaces, create components, deliver to streams, and add components to streams.

You can create a ClearCase Synchronized Stream in any Project Area and Team Area that you have write access to, and you can specify any process template that you want. At least one work item category should be associated with the team area you choose. If your process requires change sets to be associated with a work item that meets specific conditions before they can be delivered, create a work item in the Project Area that satisfies those conditions. For more information, see Creating a work item template.

To add the synchronization process account to your team area:

Procedure

  1. If you have not already done so, create a synchronization process account. For more information, see Creating a synchronization process account.
  2. Right-click the team area in which you want to create the ClearCase Synchronized Stream and then click Open.
  3. In the Members section of the team area editor, click Add.
  4. In the Add Team Members window, type the first few characters of the synchronization user account name (ccsync, or another name you have chosen to use), then select the user and click Finish.
Important: The synchronization process account must have rights to control the build lifecycle. By default, all team process templates grant this right to all roles. If your team process restricts roles that have rights to control the build lifecycle, you must assign ccsync a role that has this right.
  5. Click Save to save your changes to the team area.

Results

The synchronization user account is now a member of your team area, and can create workspaces and streams in it.
