Configuring the search index

The search index that you configure determines which components or workspace pairs are indexed. You can select components of the project to include in the index search, or components to exclude from the search.
  1. In the Team Artifacts view, expand your project area node, then expand the Context-Aware Search node.
  2. Click the Configuration node to enter the search configuration editor. The Project Area name is prefilled with the project name in which you clicked the configuration node.
  3. On the Index tab, select and expand components from the project and select the sub-components that you want to include in or exclude from the search index.
  4. Use the buttons to the right of the configuration to add or remove components. If you do not select a root node in the index configuration, only Add Components is available.
  5. Click Fine Filter Component to specify file name patterns for including or excluding files from the search index, depending on your selections in the configuration tree.
  6. Click Edit\View Synonyms to specify synonyms for words that are used at a component level when creating the search index. You can elect not to use any synonyms, use some default synonyms, or you can define synonyms on this page to use during the indexing. If you select the configuration default synonyms, the synonyms used are the most recent ones defined and saved on the Synonyms tab of this editor. If you click Load System Default, the synonyms used are those defined in the Rational Team Concert for System z plug-ins, and you cannot alter them.
  7. Click Enable Search to make the search you are defining active when you exit the editor.
