Getting started with Agile planning

The topics in this section introduce key concepts and help you learn how to create a plan, add an overview and work items to the plan, and manage team assignments in the iteration.
About this task

Before beginning work on a plan, define the iterations, team areas, and work item categories for your project. See the topics Creating and modifying a project area and Creating and modifying a team area.

The following figure outlines the relationship of how categories, team areas, and iteration schedules help assign work items to the proper team and iteration. With these relationships, team members can view and manage work items for the current iteration within their plan. The steps for creating and using a plan are presented in the topic links below the figure.
