Creating a duplicate workspace

You can create a repository workspace that is identical to an existing workspace.

Before you begin

You must complete, deliver, or suspend any active change sets in the workspace. If you do not, they are marked completed when the workspace is duplicated.

About this task

When you create a duplicate workspace, it contains the same components, baselines, and change sets as the existing workspace. It also has the same flow targets. You might want to create a duplicate workspace to use for experimental work, or to temporarily preserve a configuration that you want to return to after you make more changes in your primary workspace.

To create a duplicate workspace:

Procedure

  1. In the Team Artifacts window, right-click a repository workspace and click Duplicate. If you have active change sets, you get an error message stating that a workspace with active change sets cannot be duplicated. If you have unresolved, incoming, or completed outgoing change sets, you are asked whether you want to proceed with the operation. Click OK to continue the duplicate operation.
  2. Type the name of the duplicate repository workspace and click Finish.
