Before you can use customized shapes and elements in UPIA
models, you must create a profile with the custom stereotypes that
define the new icons and elements. You then deploy the new profile
so that you can apply it to the UPIA model.
About this task
The following steps provide an overview of the process for
creating and applying a UML profile.
- Extend the UML metamodel by defining a new UML profile. The profile
specifies stereotypes that define custom icons and diagram elements.
- Deploy the custom profile so that you can apply it to a UPIA model.
- Apply the custom profile to a model so that its stereotypes are
available for use with UPIA elements.
What to do next
For more information, including detailed procedures, see
"Extending the UML metamodel" in the online help.
After you create
and apply the new profile to a model, you can apply the stereotypes
that it defines to UPIA elements.
