You
can export a model (.emx) file to a UML 2.1 format (.uml) or to an XMI format
(.xmi).
About this task
To export an EMX model:
Procedure
- Click .
- In the Export window, expand Other,
and complete one of the following steps:
- To export to the UML 2.1 format, click UML 2.1 model and
click Next.
- To export to an XMI format, click UML 2.1 XMI Interchange Model and
click Next.
- On the UML Model page, in the Source field,
specify the models to export and click OK.
- In the Destination field, specify the target
directory for the exported models and click OK.
- Optional: To create new identifiers for all exported
model elements, select the Recreate IDs check box.
Select this option if you do not want to maintain a connection between
the original and the exported files. If you plan to modify your original models
and then re-export them to the new format, clear this check box to preserve
any cross-model references to other models in UML format.
- Optional: To export any profiles that the original
model references, select the Export applied profiles check
box.
This option only applies to profiles in the EPX format.
Profiles that are already in UML format (*.profile.uml) are not exported,
regardless of what you specify for this option. Profiles in the EPX format
might be tool-specific, so you might not want to export them.
- Click Finish.
