You
can set preferences for UML models that change the appearance of a model to
visually enhance the model for viewing or presentation.
Setting preferences for UML models You can set preferences for creating
UML models. For example, you can change the appearance of model elements
and diagram elements, create path variables to specify a directory
location in the file system, or control whether messages automatically
create return messages in sequence and communication diagrams. You
can also specify preferences for views, such as the Project
Explorer view and the Properties view.
Changing the active language projection of a UML model This content applies to version 7.5.4 or later. UML
models contain elements with the capability to display domain specific
languages. Changing the active language of your workspace, or the
default language of the model itself, you can change the domain specific
language shown on the diagram.
Removing UML model-to-diagram synchronization In
sequence diagrams, partitions in activity diagrams, and regions in state machine
diagrams, any changes that you make to the UML model are reflected in their
corresponding diagrams by default. Conversely, any changes that you make to
the diagrams are reflected in the model. You can set the canonical property
to false so that changes to the model are not synchronized
with the diagram.
