In object diagrams, you can define specific values for the slots
in an instance specification. Each slot maps to a feature or attribute of
the classifier that is instantiated.
Before you begin
You must have an object diagram open and the diagram must contain
at least one instance specification.
About this task
To add a value to a slot:
Procedure
- In the Project Explorer view or the diagram
editor, select an instance specification.
- In the Properties view, click the Slots
and Values tab.
- On the Slots and Values page, in the Name column, select a check
box.
- Click in the Values column and enter the desired value.
Results
The instance specification in the object diagram is updated to show
the values that you defined for each slot.
Note: You must ensure that each
slot has a valid type displayed in the Type column. If the type is not defined,
you cannot add a value for the slot.
Tip: If you defined
default values for attributes in the classifiers when you create the instantiations,
the corresponding slot values are displayed in the Slots and Values page.
You can modify the values.
