You can generate a profile tooling model so that you have
a graphical way to view and edit your profile tooling. Although you
can view all the property types, element types, and so on in the Project
Explorer view, a UML model that represents your profile tooling provides
an alternative way to view your profile tooling model contents.
Before you begin
Note: Before you generate a profile tooling model using the
steps below, the profile must have been created inside the UML Profile
Tooling Plug-in Project wizard. This command is not available on profiles
that reside in a modeling project, for example.
About this task
To generate a profile tooling model:
- Right-click on a profile, and click Generate Profile
Tooling Model.
Tip: If you do not see the UML Generate
Profile Tooling Model command, you must open the UML Profile
Tooling Plug-in Project wizard, create a new profile tooling project,
and specify the profile in question. If you still do not see the UML
Generate Profile Tooling Model command, make sure you
are in the Modeling perspective.
What to do next
Now that you have your tooling model, you can use it to customize
how your tooling looks.
