Installation requires the correct hardware, operating system, software,
and other factors.
Hardware and software requirements
Verify that your hardware and software meet or exceed the minimum
requirements. If your hardware and software do not meet the minimum requirements,
you might be unable to install or run the product.
User privilege requirements
You must have a user ID that meets specific requirements before
you can install your product.
C++ compiler requirements
Before you can install and use Rational® Software Architect RealTime
Edition,
you must install a Gnu-based C++ compiler such as Cygwin. You can
also use Gnu-based, RTOS vendor-supplied cross-compilers. On Linux and Solaris systems, a compiler
is available by default. Non-Gnu-based compilers, such as Microsoft Visual Studio, that
worked in Rational Rose® RealTime
are also supported for building applications after migration. However,
you will not have debugging support as a result of the lack of integration
between Eclipse and Microsoft technologies.
