Use the Rational Rose Model Import Preferences page
of the Rational Rose Model Import wizard to specify
various settings that control how the imported Rose model appears.
This topic provides a detailed explanation of each preference you
can specify on this page.
The Rational Rose Model Import Preferences page
is the last page of the Rational Rose Model Import wizard.
- Enable unmapped Rose metamodel properties
- You can use this check box to activate a profile called Rose.epx
that specifies whether specific Rose properties that do not map appear
in your imported model. By default, even though specific Rose properties
do not have corresponding UML counterparts, they import as stereotypes.
When you select the check box, the Rose properties that do not map
will appear in the Properties view in the stereotypes category. If
you clear the check box, none of the Rose properties are imported.
- Interpret UML 2.0 conventions in the Rose model
- With this check box, you can control how specific class diagram-related
model elements map on import. If you clear the check box, none of
the mappings are applied to the imported model. Most of the affected
model elements are related to classes and association ends. For more
information on the specific mappings, refer to the help topic on class
diagram mapping.
- Use Rose Icons and Shapes
- With this check box, you can retain the Rose display of specific
shapes and icons in the imported model. For example, if you check
this option, all actors in your imported model will appears as a stick
figure, rather than a solid person figure.
- Show migration problems in the Problems view
- You can use this check box to display Rose import problems such
as error, warning, and informational messages in the Problems view.
Note: Error and warning messages always appear in both the log
file and the Problems view, while
informational message appear in the Problems view only when
you select this check box.
- Maximum number of problems to generate
- With this check box, you can define the maximum number of error,
warnings, and informational messages that appear in the Problems
view. If your model surpasses the maximum number of problems,
an additional warning message appears in the Problems view; this warning
message indicates how many problems are reported as markers and how
many additional errors and warnings appear in the log file.
- Use Rose colors
- You can use this check box to import the colors specified in the
Rose model instead of the current UML modeling product preferences.
- If you clear the check box, all shapes appear in the color scheme
used in the new UML modeling products.
- Use Rose font
- With this check box, you can import the fonts specified in the
Rose model instead of the current UML modeling product preferences.
- If you clear the check box, fonts used in the new UML modeling
products are used in the imported model.
- Create views of state and activity actions
- You can use this check box to import OnEvent actions
as self-transitions in the diagram editor. When you clear the check
box, OnEvent actions are imported, but they do not appear in the diagram
editor. If desired, you can drag actions most important to your diagram
from the Model Explorer view to the diagram editor.
- For activity diagrams, all actions such as entry, do, exit,
and event (which are nested within the structured
activity node diagram element) appear in the diagram editor. These
diagram elements cascade within the shape compartment of the parent
node.
Note: In Rose, you can hide the actions on individual
states. If a Rose model contains states with hidden actions, the actions
import as hidden as well, regardless of the Create view
of state and activity actions preference setting.
- Honor diagram element autosize setting for selected diagram types
- You can use these check boxes to control the automatic sizing
of diagram elements on a per diagram basis. When you select a diagram
check box such as Use Case, the diagram elements are resized based
on the autosize property of the Rose model diagram view; model elements
in a Rose diagram that have autosize disabled are never autosized
during the import process. When you clear the check box, the diagram
elements import as they appear in the original Rose diagrams.
Note: You cannot modify autoresize settings for sequence diagrams;
you can modify the setting for all other diagram types.
- Restore Defaults
- With this button, you can return all of the Rose model import
preferences to the original state.
