In capsule-based UML models, you can change the default
value of properties at the model level, at the element level, or for
a default model.
About this task
If you change a property at the model level,
the new value becomes the default value for all elements of that type
in the model, unless you change that property at the element level.
If you change a property at the element level, the new value applies
only to that specific element. A property that you change at the element
level is not affected by any changes to the property value, either
at the model level or in a default model. If you change the default
value in the default model, the change applies to all models that
use the default model. It is optional for models to have a default
model.
To change the default value of a property:
Procedure
- In the Project Explorer view, select
the top-level model element or the default model; then click Properties view.
- In the Properties view, on the RT Properties page, complete
one of the following steps:
- If the element is a model or a model element, select the type
and group that contains the property to edit.
- If the element is a default model, select the language, the
type, and the group that contains the property to edit.
- Edit the value of the property.
When you
change the default values for a group, an Overridden label is displayed.
Tip: To restore properties to
their default values, in the Properties view, select the language,
type, and group, and click Apply Defaults.
