Installing provisionable assets from the Rational Asset Manager repository

This content applies to version 7.5.1 or later. You can install provisionable assets such as patterns, transformations, UML profile tools, and deployment technical domains from Rational® Asset Manager repository into a local workbench environment.

About this task

To provision an asset:

Procedure

  1. Open the Asset Management perspective: Click Window > Open perspective > Other > Asset Management.
  2. In the My Repositories view, expand My Assets, right-click a provisionable asset; then click Import Asset.
  3. In the Import Asset window, select Provisionable Asset Integration (install provisionable assets into workbench); then click Next.
  4. Review the terms of the licence agreement and, if you agree, click Finish.
  5. Restart Eclipse.

Results

The assets are installed into the local workbench environment.
Tip: To see a list of all provisioned assets, look in the Asset Repositories view, under Provisioned assets. You can remove the provisioned status from locally installed assets in the Eclipse workbench. In the Asset Repositories view, right-click one or more provisioned assets; then click Unprovision. In the wizard, confirm the uninstall action. The assets are removed from the local workbench environment.
Tip: If you removed the provisioned state from an asset, or if you want to retrieve the latest version of a provisioned asset, you can provision an asset again. In the Asset Repositories view, right-click a provisioned asset; then click Reprovision. In the install wizard, confirm the install action.
