You can create trace relationships between IBM® Rational® RequisitePro®, UML, and Java elements. If trace relationships are
properly established, you can follow a trail of directed trace relationships
between software elements to discover how they are related.
Procedure
To create trace relationships, complete one of the following steps:- To create a trace relationship from a Rational RequisitePro requirement to a UML type, select a RequisitePro requirement in the Requirements
Explorer view; then drag it to a UML type in the Project
Explorer view. Both the requirement and the UML type are decorated
with an arrow to indicate that a trace relationship exists.
- To create a trace relationship from a UML type to another UML type,
in the Palette, click the Explore section; then
select a UML abstraction relationship and drag the cursor from the source
element to the target element.
- To create a trace relationship from a UML class to a transformed Java class,
in the New Transformation Configuration wizard for the UML-to-Java
transformation, on the Common page, select the Create source to
target relationship check box.
