You can use the
Rational
Rose Model Import wizard to import Rose models into the Rational® modeling products,
including Rational Rose® models
that have a direct association with an existing RequisitePro® project. When you import
a RequisitePro-linked Rose model, the Rational Rose Model Import wizard converts
the RequisitePro property
set to a RequisitePro UML
profile.
Before you begin
For more information about using
the Rational Rose Model
Import wizard, see the help topics on migrating Rose models.
Important: To successfully import your RequisitePro-linked Rose
model, you must complete the following steps or you will not be able
to connect the use case model elements in the imported model with
the corresponding requirements in a RequisitePro project.
About this task
To import a Rose model that is linked to a RequisitePro project:
Procedure
- Click File > Import.
- In the Import wizard, click Rational Rose model,
and click Next.
- In the Rose Model Import wizard, specify the RequisitePro-linked
Rose model that you want to import, define a project to contain the
model, and then click Next.
- On the Resolve Subunits and Path map symbols page,
resolve any broken references to subunits and path maps (if needed),
click Refresh, and then click Next.
- On the Map Property Sets page, complete
the following steps:
- Select the Import property sets as UML profiles check
box.
- In the table, select the RequisitePro property
set.
- Click Convert it to a new profile.
- Verify that the profile name is RequisitePro. If you name the profile anything other than RequisitePro, the RequisitePro upgrade process will not
work correctly.
- Optional: To speed the importing process
and simplify the Project Explorer view, skip any unwanted property
sets during the import process: in the table, select a property set
and click Ignore this property set.
- Click Next.
- To import your RequisitePro-linked model, advance through
the last pages of the wizard and click Finish.
Results
The RequisitePro-linked Rose model is imported into the Rational modeling products
as a UML model with a file name extension of .emx; the RequisitePro property set is imported
as a UML profile named RequisitePro.epx.
After
you import the model, you must open the Requirements perspective
and establish the association between the imported model and an existing RequisitePro project by
using the RequisitePro Upgrade
wizard.
