URL and a URL link are stereotyped comment objects that you can use
to navigate to UML elements within a model. A URL link has a type
property as a further specialization of the URL. The traceability
feature treat URL links as specifications. A URL can reference any
element and does not need to be specified by a type.
About this task
To create a URL or URL link:
Procedure
- In the Project Explorer view, right click an element, then
click or .
- In the dialog input window, click Browse Workspace or Browse
File and select an element.
- Click OK.
- In the Input Dialog window, type a name to be displayed
for the URL or link.
- Optional: If you create a link, you can specify
a type.
- Optional: You can specify an icon to be displayed
for the URL or URL Link.
- Click OK.
Tip: To
navigate to a link from an element, in the diagram editor, right-click
the element and click . The element that was
referenced in the element link is selected in the Project Explorer
view.
