Populating models in Rational modeling products with data from Rational System Architect

This content applies to version 7.5.1 or later. You can populate a model with data that you export from Rational® System Architect.

Before you begin

You must have the following items in the current workspace:
  • A file that has .xml as a file name extension and that contains data that is exported from a Rational System Architect data encyclopedia
Tip: Depending on the location in the file system where you exported the Rational System Architect data, you might have to copy the file into the current workspace and refresh the view of the project: In the Project Explorer view, right-click the project into which you copied the .xml file; then click Refresh.
  • A project that contains a model that corresponds to the type of data that you are importing.

For example, if you import UML-type data from Rational System Architect, the project must contain a UML model.

The model into which you import the data must be closed.
