You can move your Rational Rose® models
and related artifacts into the UML modeling products in the IBM® Rational® Software Delivery Platform using
the Rational Rose model import wizard.
Before you begin
Preparing for Rose model migration Before you begin to import yourRational Rose models,
be sure that you store a copy of your model in a recoverable location,
verify that your system meets the minimum system requirements, and
so on. Properly preparing to import your Rose models will help you
migrate models and related artifacts.
Migrating Rose models During theRational Rose model
import process, the Rational Rose Model Import wizard
walks you through the various model migration steps.
Migrating Rose models that are linked to RequisitePro projects You can import into the Rational modeling products
an IBM Rational Rose model that is linked
to an IBM Rational RequisitePro® project. When you import
a RequisitePro-linked Rose model, the direct associations between
use case model elements and the corresponding RequisitePro project are not imported.
After you import the model, you must re-establish the direct associations
by using the RequisitePro Upgrade wizard.
Importing Rational Rose user-defined data types as classes
In Rational Rose,
you can define and assign data types to attributes, parameters, or
function return types by editing the type field in Rational Rose specifications.
However, in the Rational modeling products,
you can only assign data types to attributes, method parameters, or
method return types that are available in the model and model libraries.
When you import Rational Rose models,
you can override the default settings so that user-defined data types
import as classes rather than primitive types.
