Releasing a custom UML profile
ensures that you cannot make changes to a profile that adversely affect
models that have the released profile. You cannot delete or rename
the stereotypes, stereotype attributes, classes, enumerations, or
metaclass extensions of a released profile. You can only make changes
that are compatible with the released version of the profile.
Before you begin
Before you can release a custom
UML profile, the profile must be open in the
Project Explorer view.
Important: You should only release a profile when you are ready
to deploy it.
Note: Releasing a profile marks the last non-released
version as released; all other non-released versions are deleted.
This only applies to elements that existed in the profile when it
was released. Any elements created after the release can be modified
until the profile is released again.
