You can delete or ignore
exemplar artifacts or projects that are not required in a JET transformation
project.
Before you begin
Deleting exemplar projects or
artifacts reduces the scope of the exemplar. You can delete exemplar
artifacts that are of a type that a transformation does not generate.
For example, you might delete exemplar files with .class as a file
name extension; these files are the output of the Java compiler,
and are typically generated by a transformation. Deleted exemplar
artifacts are removed from the Exemplar pane of the editor area.
Note: To
add exemplar projects that you previously deleted from the exemplar
scope, you must add the exemplar project again.
You can
ignore exemplar projects or artifacts to easily identify artifacts
and projects that are currently not associated with a transformation
output action. In the following illustration, the decoration of a
selected check box (
)
indicates that the artifact jdoe@example.org.html file is associated
with the transformation input schema and a JET file action. The letters
folder in the exemplar project is also associated with the transformation
input schema and a JET folder action. The partially selected check
box decoration (
)
on the letters folder indicates that a project or folder has contents
that are not associated with the transformation input schema:

If the transformation does not require
the testfile@example.org.html file, you can specify that the transformation
ignore this artifact. When you ignore an artifact, an ignore decoration
(
) is
displayed beside the artifact. All the artifacts in the letters folder
of the exemplar are now associated with the transformation input schema,
as indicated by the selected check box decoration on the letters folder:
About this task
To remove an exemplar artifact from the transformation:
Procedure
- In the Project Explorer view,
in the JET transformation project, right-click the transform.tma file;
then click Open.
- In the Exemplar pane, right-click an exemplar project or
artifact; then complete one of the following steps:
- To specify that the transformation does not require the artifact,
select Ignore. When you ignore an artifact,
it is visible in the Exemplar pane; this enables you to undo the ignore
action and associate the artifact with the transformation input schema.
- To remove the exemplar artifact from the Exemplar pane, select Delete.
The physical file or project that you delete is not affected.
