This project takes approximately 15 minutes. Before you run the
Fan-In pluglet sample, you must activate the pluglet projects and pluglets
capability, and import the sample pluglet.
About this task
Once you have imported the pluget sample into your workspace, you
can run the Fan-In pluglet.
Procedure
- Activate the pluglet projects and pluglets capability:
- Click . In the Customize Perspective window,
click the Shortcuts tab and be sure New is
specified in the Submenus list.
- In the Shortcut Categories list, select Pluglets to
enable the related shortcuts. Make sure that the Pluglet and Pluglets
Project check boxes are checked in the Shortcut list.
- Click the Commands tab. In the Available
command groups list, select Pluglets and Modeling.
- Click OK.
To check if your perspective is customized, click , and
check if the Pluglets Project was added to the pull
down menu.
- Importing the sample:
- On the Fan-In pluglet overview page, click Get the sample.
- In the Import Sample wizard, the Fan-In pluglet sample is filled
in for you. Accept the default values and click Finish.
- Running the Fan-In pluglet sample:
- Run the pluglet for the first time by selecting the pluglet
sample FanInMetric.java in the Project Explorer.
- Click .
- In the Create, manage, and run configurations window,
select Pluglet.
- Type Fan-In in the Name field.
The Fan-In pluglet configuration appears under Pluglet.
- Click Apply and Run.
- Select your class. Click .
Results
The pluglet runs, and the fan-in results are displayed in the Console
window.
After you have run the Fan-In pluglet once, you can see that
the Internal Tools menu is populated with a new menu
item, FanInMetric pluglet. You can use this menu item
to run the pluglet and calculate the fan-in for a class.
