In UML diagrams, you can
show or hide the aliases that you specify for diagram elements. The
display mode is controlled at the diagram level, which means that
you can display the aliases or the real names of the diagram elements
for each diagram.
Before you begin
You must have a diagram open in
the Modeling perspective and the preference to show aliases must be
set. Click . In the
Preferences window, expand and select
Display Alias on the General
tab.
About this task
To show or hide aliases in a diagram:
Procedure
- In the Project Explorer view, click
a diagram.
- In the Properties view, click the General tab.
- On the General page, complete one of the following steps:
- To show the aliases, select the Use Alias Name check
box.
- To hide the aliases, clear the Use Alias Name check
box.
Results
Tip: Because an element can appear in more than
one diagram, you can show the alias for an element in one diagram,
and the real name of the element in another diagram.
