You can add transitions to capsule-based state machine
diagrams in several ways.
About this task
To add a transition to a diagram, complete any of the following
steps:
Procedure
- In the Palette, under Capsule
State Machine, click Transition.
In the diagram editor, click a source state and drag it to either
a target state or anywhere in the diagram.
- From the Model Assistant menu, select
to create a new state, choice, or junction point.
- Hover over a state, click a connector handle, and drag
it to a corresponding target end.
Results
You can type a name for the transition, or accept a unique
default name.
Typically, a new connection point is created on the
state at the target end of the transition and it implies a deep history.
Entry points are created with public visibility, and exit points are
created with protected visibility (non-external). Other results vary,
based on how you create specific connection points.
