This project takes approximately 5 minutes. Before you import the
Rose model, you must create the sample project.
About this task
Before you import the Rose sample model, you must add the model
into your workspace using the Rose model import resources wizard. This wizard
automatically launches when you click the Create the sample project link
on the Rose model import sample page.
Procedure
- Create the sample project:
- On the Rational Rose® model sample page, click Create
the sample project. The Rose model import resources wizard opens
with the Rose import project name specified as Rose model import.
- In the Rose model import resources wizard, click Finish.
- If you are prompted to switch to the Modeling perspective, click Yes.
The sample project imports into your workspace. Now you are ready
to import the Rose model that resides in the sample project.
- Import the Rose model:
- Click File > Import > Other > Rational
Rose Model, and then click Next. The Rational
Rose Model Import wizard opens.
- Using the Source model Browse button,
navigate to the workspace that contains the RoseImportSample.mdl model file,
select it, and then click Open.
Note: Another
Rose sample model also appears in the sample project. The RoseImportSample_custom.mdl
file is used in the Rose model import tutorial.
- Enter a new project name (or specify an existing project) and
then click Next.
- Without modifying any of the Rose model import options on subsequent
pages of the Rose Model Import wizard, click Finish.
Results
The Rose model imports and is now a UML 2.0 model. The sample model
(RoseImportSample.mdl) and related Java and C++ source code appear
in the
Project Explorer view.
