You can edit the JET templates
that are generated after you run the Update Project command. You might
edit JET templates to add iterative or conditional content, or to
replace text in the template with references to attributes or elements
in the input model.
Before you begin
JET templates have .jet as
a file name extension.
About this task
When you edit a JET template, the Outline view displays
the hierarchy of JET elements in that template. In this view, click
an element to highlight the corresponding element in the editor area.
Expand an element to reveal the contained JET elements.
To edit
a JET template:
Procedure
- In the Project Explorer view, navigate
to a JET transformation project and double-click a JET template. The elements of the JET template are highlighted in the
colors that you specify in the JET editor preferences.
- Make any edits and follow the step below, if appropriate:
- To insert new tags or to surround selected content with a
new JET tag, invoke the Content Assist feature by pressing Ctrl+Space.
A list of JET tags and JET editing templates that start with that
letter is displayed. If you select a tag or editing template from
the list, its contents are inserted at the cursor position in the
JET template. The list of JET tags that is displayed is based on the
available tag libraries.
Note: You can add, edit, or remove JET editing templates when
you specify JET editor preferences.
