The pattern author can set or
modify the pattern property values for pattern libraries, patterns,
and parameters by using the
Properties view.
Some properties are informational only and cannot be modified.
About this task
Two pattern properties that can be set in the Properties view are not available in the New
Pattern wizard. These properties are the Overview Diagram
and the Target Types properties.
In addition, you
can use the Java editor to modify properties
in the code that are not available in the
Properties view, but use caution. If you change some properties in the code, your
code may become out of sync. Depending on the modifications, you can
attempt to resynchronize the code by right-clicking a pattern or parameter
in the
Pattern Authoring view and clicking
Regenerate Source Code.
Note: You cannot modify the Groups
property of the pattern library because it is a summary of all of
the groups added to its member patterns.
Procedure
To add or change the properties of a pattern project's
library, pattern, or parameter, right-click its respective node and
click Show Properties View. The Properties view opens; you can view the
property values or select a property to modify.
