In the Design Pattern Toolkit (DPTK), the PATZIP files can be deployed
to a shared directory referenced by the patterns page in the Preferences window.
JET has a similar preference page.
To set the JET transform preference:
- Click .
- In the field above the tree list on the left, type jet to
filter the choices.

- Click New and browse to the location containing
the JAR files.
When running a JET transformation, JET has the following search
order:
- Transformations installed in the Eclipse workbench.
- Open JET projects in the workspace.
- Transformations found in the folders specified in the Addition
locations for JET Transformations preference field.
- Transformations registered using the org.eclipse.jet.deployedTransforms
extension point.
JET transformations can be also deployed in the following ways:
- Because JET transformations are Eclipse plug-ins, they can be installed
directly into an Eclipse configuration if JET is also installed. Typically,
this is done by creating an Eclipse feature to contain the plug-in.
- JET transformations can also be included in another Eclipse plug-in, through
the org.eclipse.jet.deployedTransforms extension point. There is a subtle
difference between this option and the previous option. With this option,
the transformation can be replaced by a copy in the Eclipse workspace. With
the previous option, it cannot.
