When you model the structure of a real-time system, you
model the entities that make up the system, as well as the relationships
between them, such as communication or containment relationships.
About this task
Creating ports in capsule-based structure diagrams
In capsule-based structure diagrams, you can create a port to define
an interaction point between a capsule and the environment. A port specifies
the events that a capsule acts on. You can add a port inside or on the border
of a structure diagram.
Creating parts in capsule-based structure diagrams
In capsule-based structure diagrams, you can create a part inside
the diagram to define the structure of the capsule. You cannot create a part
on the border of a capsule.
Modifying the properties of parts and elements in capsule-based structure diagrams
In capsule-based structure diagrams, you can modify the properties
of parts to customize them for your purposes. You can specify an aspect of
the part's life cycle by setting the part as fixed, optional, or a plug-in.
You can also specify that a part is a substitutable part.
