About this task
Note: Ensure that your system meets the memory, hardware, and
software requirements. Because models might become larger after you import
them, hard disk space might be an issue when you migrate large models.
Before
you migrate models, complete the following steps:
- Open all models in version 7.0.0.1 of Rational Rose RealTime to upgrade the model to the PetalRT version that Rational Software Architect
RealTime Edition supports. If you currently use version 7.0.0.1, the models should
use the correct version of PetalRT. If you use an earlier version of Rational Rose RealTime,
you must open the model in the latest version; otherwise, the models might
not import correctly.
- Try to reduce the size of the Rational Rose RealTime models
before you migrate them. Delete any model artifacts that you do not need.
When you reduce the size of a model, the import process is faster, the imported
model is less complex, and potential problems after migration are easier to
identify.
- Import Rational Rose RealTime models
on the same system that you used to create them, if possible. Using the same
system provides access to information such as the stereotype configuration
files and associated image files that Rational Software Architect
RealTime Edition uses.
- Verify that the models generate, compile, and link correctly in Rational Rose RealTime.
