This tutorial guides you through the steps to export a
RAS asset to a local file system. You can use a RAS asset to export
and share files for many different purposes.
The RAS asset uses a zipped format so you can easily
select one or more projects or files, export them quickly using default
settings, and then send them by e-mail to a co-worker. Or, you may
have a large framework of patterns that you have been working on for
months that uses callouts, code templates, and many support and documentation
files. For this project, you would probably want to take time to carefully
document and construct the RAS asset for efficient use by the RAS
asset consumer. Both types of scenarios are supported in the RAS asset
process.
Learning objectives
This
tutorial is divided into two exercises. The beginning exercise helps
you to set up the environment needed to export an asset. After the
environment is set, you will learn how to export an asset to a directory
on your local files ystem.
