Rational Developer for System z

Rational Developer for System z and Rational Developer for Power Systems Shell Sharing Editor conflict

Limitation: When Rational® Developer for System z® and Rational Developer for Power Systems™ are installed at the same time, there are Editor conflicts.

When you install Rational Developer for System z and Rational Developer for Power Systems in a shell sharing environment and you launch Rational Developer for System z, both Rational Developer for System z and Rational Developer for Power Systems links are created. This includes links to the Rational Developer for System z and Rational Developer for Power Systems editors.

During the install, the Rational Developer for Power Systems editors are set as the default. This causes problems for some of the Rational Developer for System z Debug functions such as debug actions being enabled properly and adding breakpoints.

Workaround: When using Rational Developer for System z, set the Rational Developer for System z editors as the default.
