Viewing the dependencies of a program

You may want to determine what dependencies a certain COBOL or PL/I program has.
If you are checking the dependencies of a remote program, you must first successfully log on to the remote system.
Note: Currently, if your program depends on a file that cannot be found, the file is simply ignored (skipped without warning). To ensure that files are not skipped, you may first run a local syntax check on your program; if the syntax check does not produce any errors, then all the dependencies can be located and no files will be skipped.

Linux icon Rational® Developer for System z® does not support local Show Dependencies operations on the Linux platform.

To check the dependencies of a COBOL or PL/I program, right-click the program and click Show Dependencies. You can also check the dependencies of all COBOL and PL/I programs in a local project or subproject by right-clicking the project or subproject name and clicking Show Dependencies.
Note: The Show Dependencies action is enabled for subprojects only when the subproject contains COBOL or PL/I resources.
A window opens listing all dependencies for the program or project.
