Rational Developer for System z

Overview of source code generation in Rational Developer for System z

IBM® Rational® Developer for System z® lets you generate source code by ways such as UML-to-COBOL transformation, using the VSAM/QSAM wizard, or using the Database Application Generator.

Overview

UML-to-COBOL transformation lets you model data structures and programs and then use these models to generate COBOL source code. To generate COBOL programs that perform I/O to VSAM or QSAM files, you can use the VSAM/QSAM wizard. A Database Application Generator tool helps you rapidly create a z/OS® data access layer for web services, based on a relational database schema or a simplified UML model.
