Now that you have created partitioned data sets, you can
upload the files that are on the local machine to the host system.
There are several ways to transfer your local project files to the
remote system; this lesson covers a simple copy/paste approach.
To upload your local source files to the remote system:
- Ensure you are connected to the remote host.
- In the z/OS Projects view, expand
your project, Automart > GAM_COBOL >COBOLBMS.
- Select all the BMS files, right click on them, and select Copy.
- In the Remote System Explorer view, select the host
system, then MVS Files > My Data
Sets > *.AUTOMART.ASSEMBLE.
- Right click on the partitioned data set and select Paste.
The files from the local machine will be stored in the remote partitioned
data set.
- Alternatively, you can select the BMS files from the local
project, then drag and drop them into the *.AUTOMART.ASSEMBLE partitioned
data set.
- Next, copy the files in the COPYBOOK directory
into the *.AUTOMART.COPYBOOK PDS.
- Copy the files in the GAMOVDB, GAMOVII, GAMOVMI, GAMOVMM,
and GAMOVSI directories and place them in the *.AUTOMART.COBOL PDS.
- Finally, copy the files in the JCL directory
into the *.AUTOMART.JCL PDS.
When you complete copying and pasting, you should see all
the local source files, available on the remote system. Double clicking
on a particular file on the remote system will open it up in the editor
so you can view its contents.
