Record selection criteria

Record selection criteria are a second level of record filtering that is applied to a data set.

After specifying record identification criteria for each record type, you can then specify record selection criteria to limit which records from that type you want to work with. Any records that do not match the criteria specified by the record selection criteria will be filtered out of the view within the Formatted Data Editor. For example, once a data set has been narrowed down to a particular type, you can then use additional record selection criteria to eliminate all records that do not begin with the letter “A”. Continue to apply additional criteria until the appropriate selection of records is reached.

Record selection criteria can be created and modified using the tools provided in the Layout information portion of the Template Editor.
