Device format component properties

The Properties view displays property value information for a device format component that is selected in the design canvas or Outline view.
Note: You must press the Enter key to commit properties changes and update the Outline view.

MFS Format

You can set the following Basic properties:
Name

  • Card width for card reader input data
Type
Set the device type and model number. Select a 3270 display or printer device type from the drop-down list.
Substitution
Specify the character that MFS should use to replace any X'3F' characters in the input data stream.
DSCA
Specify the default system control area for output messages that use this device format.

Specify the row position of the cursor.
Cursor Column
Specify the row column of the cursor.
Device Field

Field

You can set the following Basic properties:
Width
Specify the length of the field. This operand should be omitted if literal is specified in the positional parameter—in that case the length of literal is used as the field length.
Row

Column
Specify the column number in the position of the field.
Page Number
Specify the physical page number for an output field
Label
Specify an optional name. The length is from one to eight alphanumeric characters.
