You can create an empty Application Deployment Manager
manifest in a z/OS® project
apart from project generation.
Before you can create an empty manifest in a z/OS project, you must create a z/OS project and create connection to a CICS® resource definition server.
(Go to , and specify connection,
location, and authentication information.)
To create an empty manifest in a z/OS project, complete the following steps:
- In the z/OS Projects view, right-click
a project name, and select Deploy CICS Resources. A Manage Related CICS Resources window
is displayed.
- Click New. A Create
New Manifest window is displayed.
- Specify the file name of the manifest, select a CICS region to which requests will
be sent for this manifest, and click OK. A new manifest is created.
- In the Manage Related CICS Resources window,
click OK or Edit. The new manifest is opened in the Resource Definition
Editor.
- To add a resource to the manifest, complete the following
steps in the Resource Definition Editor:
- Click Add. An Add
Resource window is displayed.
- Specify the resource name, resource type, description,
and resource attribute values, and click OK. The specified resource is added to the manifest.
- When you are done adding resources, click . The edited file is saved.
- To add additional resources, repeat the previous step.
- When you are done adding resources to the manifest, close
the Resource Definition Editor.
An Application Deployment Manager manifest (.admr)
file is created in the z/OS project.
The manifest file that is created is not visible inside the z/OS project. This is also true
if you create the manifest by clicking . However, you can access the file by right-clicking
the project name (in the z/OS Projects view)
and selecting Deploy CICS Resources.
