Using ESQL expressions instead of ESQL modules

The current level of the service flow project tools uses ESQL expressions instead of ESQL modules to provide the logic for mapping conditions, mapping transforms, While nodes, and the output terminals of Switch nodes.

For new service flow projects and for service flow projects that you migrated to the current level of the service flow project tools, use the Edit Expression window to create and modify ESQL expressions (see Using the Edit Expression window).

When you migrate a service flow project to the current level from a level that used .esql files the migration processing saves the original .esql files in the esql folder, which you can access in the Navigator view (see Migrating a service flow project to the latest level).

You cannot use these .esql files with new or migrated service flow projects.

However, you can still edit these .esql files with the flow ESQL editor (see Flow ESQL editor). To open an .esql file in the flow ESQL editor:

  1. Switch to the Navigator view.

  2. In the esql folder, right-click the .esql file that you want to work with.

  3. Select Open With > Other > Flow ESQL Editor.
