To generate a build script, select your project, right click and select Team -> Generate Java/J2EE Build Script.
The generate script function provides a high-level means of creating a build script suitable for interpretation by the SCLM Java build translator. Once the build script is created, it can be edited manually if necessary. Using a script file is the principle means of building Java and J2EE projects in SCLM using the SCLM Developer Toolkit.
All scripts are created in type J2EEBLD. The default Java/J2EE skeleton scripts should be of language type TEXT or J2EEPART. The generated build scripts should be of language type J2EEANT.
The Build Script Generation Page requires the type of project, that is, Java, Web, EJB or EAR. Types EJB and Java can have SQLJ enabled. It also requires the build script name, project name, JAR file name and the ARCHDEF from which the list of files to build is listed. The ARCHDEF file is generally created when the files are added to SCLM control. There is an option to review the generated build script. Once the script has been generated it can be edited or viewed by populating the SCLM view with the script name under the type J2EEBLD. This script can then be used to build a project using the Script Build operation for a designated project.
You can also have the source code or build map used in the build stored within the build object. This is done by selecting the Include Build Map and Include Java Source check boxes, and select the required encoding type for the build map and Java source.
A number of values set in the script are obtained from the SCLM Preference Page. Refer to the IBM SCLM Developer Toolkit Preferences page topic for a description of those settings.
