Lesson 5: Add remote source files to z/OS subprojects

In this lesson, you will take the Global Auto Mart source files you uploaded to the remote system and will add them to the z/OS® subprojects you created in the last lesson.

To add remote files to a z/OS subproject:

  1. Make sure you are in the z/OS Projects perspective.
  2. In the Remote System Explorer view, navigate to the AUTOMART.ASSEMBLE partitioned data set, MVS Files > My Data Sets.
  3. Expand the partitioned data set and right click on the file, GAM0MC1.asm, and select Add to Subproject.
  4. In the Add dialog box that appears, select Project A from the Project Name drop down menu. Select GAM0MC1 from the Subproject Name drop down menu. Click Finish.
  5. If you expand the Project A > GAM0MC1 subproject, you will see the remote file added to the subproject.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 adding the files GAM0MC2.asm and GAM0MC3.asm to Project A, subproject GAM0MC2 and GAM0MC3 respectively.
  7. For Project B, add GAM0MC1.asm to the GAM0MC1 subproject, GAM0MC2.asm to the GAM0MC2 subproject, and GAM0MC3.asm to the GAM0MC3 subproject.
  8. For Project C, add GAM0VMI.cbl to the GAM0VMI subproject, GAM0VMM.cbl to the GAM0VMM subproject, GAM0VII.cbl to the GAM0VII subproject and GAM0VSI.cbl to the GAM0VSI subproject.
When the projects and subprojects are expanded in the z/OS Projects view, you should see each of the files that you have added to the subprojects from the remote system.
