Creating a Local Project in the z/OS Projects perspective

This topic describes how to create a Local Project (Workstation COBOL or PL/I) in the z/OS® Projects perspective.

To create a Local Project (Workstation COBOL or PL/I) in the z/OS Projects perspective:

  1. Open the z/OS Projects perspective if it is not already open:
    1. On the main menu of the workbench, select Window > Open Perspective > Other. The Open Perspective window opens.
    2. In the Open Perspective window, select z/OS Projects. The z/OS Projects perspective opens.
  2. In the z/OS perspective, create a Local Project (Workstation COBOL or PL/I):
    1. On the main menu of the workbench, select File > New > Project.

      The New Project wizard opens.

    2. In the New Project wizard:
      1. Expand Workstation COBOL or PL/I.
      2. Select Local Project.
      3. Click Next.

      The New Local Project wizard opens.

    3. In the New Local Project wizard, on the first page of the wizard, titled z/OS Local Project:
      1. In the Project name field, type the name that you want to use for the project, such as COBOL Project 001.
      2. Select the Use default check box if it is not already selected.
      3. Select Do not associate the project with a property group.
      4. Click Finish.

    The new project is added to the z/OS Projects view.
