Import the sample and create a new server

There are two samples for the CICS SCA FILEA Amount Services example. The first sample is the completed SCA project that contains an SCA composite ready for deployment to CICS. This SCA project is the result of completing the steps in the tutorial. The second sample is a workstation project that contains the three COBOL programs that are used, along with the FILEA application, as a basis for the tutorial.

After you import the first sample, if you want to run the application on CICS, you need to create a Remote Systems connection (see Remote Systems help topic) and an Application Deployment Manager connection by using the Windows > Preferences > Connections page. The connection type must be a CICS Resource Definition server via REST, because only that type of connection supports the new BUNDLE resource in CICS TS 4.1. After the connections are created, use the Deploy CICS Bundle wizard to deploy the SCA application. After successful deployment you can test the application by using the Web Services Explorer.

After you import the second sample, you can transfer the three COBOL programs stored in the workstation project to the host and compile them in CICS to extend the FILEA application and support the scenario described in the SCA FILEA Amount Services tutorial. Therefore, importing this sample is useful prior to trying to complete the steps listed in the tutorial.
