Changing the high-level qualifier of an MVS subproject

You can change the high-level qualifier of an MVS™ subproject after it has been created.
When you create an MVS subproject, you can choose a high-level qualifier (HLQ) for the subproject. The default HLQ is the user ID with which you are logged on to the remote system when you create a project. This HLQ is used to resolve the <HLQ> substitution variable that appears in some property values associated with resources contained by the subproject. You can see the high-level qualifier associated with a subproject by selecting the subproject and opening the Properties view.

To change the HLQ associated with a subproject:

  1. In the z/OS Projects view, select the subproject and then click Properties. The Properties window opens.
  2. Click Info to open the Info page.
  3. Select a new HLQ from the High-level Qualifier list and then click OK to save the change. Rational® Developer for System z® obtains the HLQs for this list from the filters defined under MVS Files node in the Remote Systems view.
