In order to access SCLM services it is necessary to register the SCLM repository provider with the selected project. This directs the project to an SCLM server and an SCLM project. Individual projects can register against different SCLM servers or projects. You must enter the host and the name of the project that you want to link with. With HTTP this is a hostname/port, and with RSE a named remote host connection.
Registering a project is done through the Share Project function. To share a project, select the project you want to share, right click and select Team -> Share Project. The Share Project page is displayed.
From the Share Project page, select SCLM as the repository provider and click Next. The SCLM Location page is displayed, prompting you for the SCLM server location. If connecting through an HTTP server, provide the host name or IP address along with the port number for the required HTTP server. If connecting through Remote Systems Explorer (RSE), select an RSE connection from the pull down box.
The Project Filter field allows you to retrieve of a list of SCLM projects based on wildcards or an explicit name. Click Next, and Project Selection page is displayed with a list of SCLM projects based on the filter you specified. Select the SCLM project and your development group. The SCLM project name does not have to be the same as that of the IDE project. The project will be updated and the SCLM project and location will be registered against that project. You can use an alternative project definition at this stage for that project. Enter the project definition and click the Retrieve button for the development groups to update the list and select a development group.
