Use the flow editor to create a mapping routine for an Assign node
or for the input terminal or an output terminal of
an Invoke node.
Recall that a mapping routine can be referenced by an Assign
node or by the input terminal or an output terminal of
most types of Invoke nodes (see Artifacts from which mapping routines can be referenced).
To create a mapping routine for an Assign node or for
the terminal of an Invoke node:
In the flow editor, right-click the Assign node or the Invoke node
on the flow editor canvas.
Select Open Mapping Routine.
What you do in this step depends on whether you are creating a mapping
routine for an Assign node or for the terminal of an Invoke node:
- If you are creating a mapping routine for an Assign node, then take no
action in this step and go on immediately to the next step.
Note: An Assign
node can contain only one mapping routine, so the flow editor knows which
mapping routine you want to work on.
- If you are creating a mapping routine for the terminal of an Invoke node,
then a pop-up menu opens beside the Open Mapping
Routine menu item. From the pop-up menu, select the mapping routine
that you want to work on.
Note: The pop-up menu menu includes
an entry for each terminal that currently exists in the Invoke node.
The mapping editor opens the mapping file for the
flow and displays the selected mapping routine in the
mapping routine area. If the mapping routine does not already exist,
then the mapping editor creates a new, empty mapping routine and displays
it.
You can now add to or modify the currently displayed mapping routine
(see Working with mapping routines in the mapping editor.)
Close the mapping editor when you are finished.
