Screen operations file selection drawer

The screen operations file selection drawer, which extends vertically along the right side of the Terminal tab of the host editor when the host editor is in flow mode, allows you to select the screen operations file or files that you want to use during flow recording.

The working set is the set of screen operations files that are available to be used with a particular application screen during flow recording (see Working set).

The active screen operations file is the one particular screen operations file in the working set that is selected to be used with the currently displayed application screen (see Active screen operations file).

The screen operations file selection drawer allows a great deal of flexibility in selecting the screen operations files for the working set and also in choosing the single active screen operations file from among the files in working set. You can configure the working set to include any or all of the screen operations files in your service flow project. You can select the active screen operations file from the working set manually or have the host editor select it automatically. You can re-configure the working set and the manual or automatic selection of the active screen operations file for each application screen that you navigate to during flow recording.

The screen operations file selection drawer contains two main areas:
  • The Working Set area (occupying roughly the upper one-half of the drawer) includes:
    • The Working Set list box
    • The Select active operations file button
    • The Automatic Selection check box
  • The Screen Operations Files area (occupying roughly the lower one-half of the drawer) includes:
    • The Screen Operations Files list box
    • The Update working set button
    • The Refresh button
Use the Screen Operations Files area (the lower area) of the screen operations file selection drawer to select the screen operations files that you want to include in the working set (see Table 1).
Table 1. Controls in the Screen Operations Files area
Control: Function:
The Screen Operations Files list box
  • Lists by name all the screen operations files in the terminal application folder of your service flow project (the file extension .wsdl is not displayed).
  • The screen operations files listed are Part01, Part02, Part03. (The full names are Part01.wsdl, Part02.wsdl, and Part03.wsdl).
  • Lists at the head of the list the [ Untitled ] screen operations file (see The [ Untitled ] screen operations file).
A check box located to the left of each screen operations file name in the list.
  • Select the check box beside a screen operations file name to indicate that you want to include the file in the working set.
  • Clear the check box beside a screen operations file name to indicate that you want to exclude the file from the working set.
The Update working set button
  • When you have selected a check box beside each screen operations file that you want to include in the working set, click Update working set to create a new working set. The new working set will contain only the selected (checked) screen operations files.
Note: During the same flow recording, a screen operations file can be included in or excluded from the working set multiple times. During the same flow recording, any changes made to a screen operations file while it is included in the working set are retained if the screen operations file is later excluded from the working set during the same flow recording. The changes are still present if the screen operations file is again included in the working set during the same flow recording. Changes to screen operations files are saved to disk when you save the recorded flow (see Saving a flow).
The Refresh button Click Refresh to refresh the contents of the Screen Operations Files list box. The host editor:
  1. Updates the list box to contain the names of all the screen operations files currently in your service flow project (in case any screen operations file has been added or deleted since the last refresh).
  2. Clears all the check boxes.
Save screen operations file
  • The host editor displays this icon beside a file entry in the Screen Operations Files area of the drawer to indicate that recorded material has been added to this screen operations file since the last time that the screen operations file was saved to disk.
  • The host editor continues to display this symbol beside the entry until you save the recorded flow to disk (see Saving a flow).
Use the Working Set area (the upper area) of the screen operations file selection drawer to select the active screen operations file from the working set (see Table 2).
Table 2. Controls in the Working Set area
Control: Function:
The Working Set list box
  • Lists by name all the screen operations files in the current working set (the file extension .wsdl is not displayed).
  • Only the screen operations file [ Untitled ] is listed (see The [ Untitled ] screen operations file).
The Automatic Selection check box
  • Select this check box to have the host editor automatically select the active screen operations file from among all the screen operations files listed in the Working Set list box.
Note: If there is only one screen operations file in the working set, then this file automatically becomes the active screen operations file. This statement applies also to the [ Untitled ] screen operations file.
  • Clear this check box to select the active screen operations file manually. To select the active screen operations file manually:
    1. Clear the Automatic Selection check box if it is not already cleared.
    2. Select the file in the working set that you want to be the active screen operations file.
    3. Click Select active operations file.
    4. The host editor displays the name of the active screen operations file on the second line of the host editor's information area (see Information area).
Note: If there is only one screen operations file in the Working Set list box, then this file automatically becomes the active screen operations file, and you do not have to select it. This statement applies also to the [ Untitled ] screen operations file.
Capture screen
  • The host editor displays this icon beside a file entry in the Screen Operations Files area of the drawer to indicate that one or more screen operations in this screen operations file references the recognized screen description (see Recognized screen description).
