A master workspace is a Rational® Developer
for System z® workspace
from which you create the remote system connections, configuration
files, and preference settings to be distributed to other client workstations.
About this task
Creating a master workspace for push-to-client configurations
is no different from creating any other Rational Developer for System z workspace. It is good practice
to have a workspace dedicated to configuration so that the remote
system connections, configuration files, and preference settings intended
for general distribution do not become altered unintentionally by
other development activities. The purpose of using a master workspace
is for the workspace owner (or push-to-client administrator) to set
up preferences, system connections, and configurations the way you
want ordinary users to have them in their workspaces. Set up the workspace
using the product user interface and then export those settings using
the Rational Developer
for system z configuration export wizard.
See Switching workspaces for information about creating
a new workspace.
