Include Members in ARCHDEF

This function allows you to add members to an Archdef file without physically migrating those members. When creating an Archdef file, you can add any number of SCLM members to it and to customize it to enable high-level build functions. It is also possible to add references to other Archdef files so that projects can be built using subprojects that are referenced in the high level ARCHDEF. This list can be populated using a number of filter fields to refine the listing of candidate members.

Selecting an existing Archdef file or creating a new one for edit invokes the check out / edit mode in the SCLM view. To include members in the ARCHDEF, do the following:
  1. Select the edited member in the project list (this file must be in edit mode) right click and select Include Members in ARCHDEF. The High Level Archdef page is displayed.
  2. Click Add and the SCLM Project Filter page is displayed. Enter the criteria for the members to be included. Click Remove or Remove All to delete members. The High Level Archdef Member Selection dialog is displayed.
  3. Edit the package contents by selecting the appropriate Include type and selection of individual members. The INCLD parameter indicates that the member is to be built, while the PROM value indicates that the member is included but not individually built.
  4. Click OK. The selected member list is populated in the package file.
Note: This function might fail if you have not previously edited a member from SCLM. This function does not create the required directory structure within SCLM to allow check-in functions. The error will describe a code page translation error. To correct this, select any current SCLM member for remote edit and then check the file in. This creates the required structure and enables the package creation to operate successfully.
