The process of saving data while using the Formatted Data Editor is accomplished in the same way as other Eclipse editors.
At any time, a save may be requested by performing any of the following:
While editing data sets within the Formatted Data Editor, all edits are validated and stored locally on the client. Although the data has previously been validated in real time, all of the records will not be completely validated until a save is performed. Only when a save has been initiated from the client will the changes be saved to the host. During this process, the updated records on the client will be merged into the data set located on the host. If the save fails because one or more of the records did not pass the final validation, the incorrect records will be identified so that the errors may be corrected before attempting to save again.
If you would rather not save your changes back to the originating data set, a save as may be performed instead to save the data in the editor to a different location.
