Open the Endevor Package Editor

The Endevor Package Editor is opened by selecting a CA Endevor package from the CA Endevor Package RAM, or files with a .pck or .scl extension outside of the CA Endevor Package RAM.

About this task

Use the following steps to open packages stored in the CA Endevor Packages RAM in the Endevor Package Editor.

Procedure

  1. Connect to the CA Endevor Packages RAM
  2. Expand the Packages List repository instance. By default, the CA Endevor Package Repository Filter will prompt the user to define a filter for the initial set of packages to retrieve. Selecting Finish without defining a filter will populate and display all packages within CA Endevor.
  3. In the CARMA Repositories View, the packages in the CA Endevor Packages repository should have a .pck extension and the Endevor package icon. If they do not, then refresh the properties of the package.
  4. Double click any package you wish to open in the Endevor Package Editor. The package will open in the Endevor Package Editor.
  5. You can now use the Endevor Package Editor to edit packages.

Set Endevor Package Editor as default for SCL files

SCL files open automatically with the LPEX editor. An association for .scl to the Endevor Package Editor can be added so that SCL files open automatically in the Endevor Package Editor.

About this task

Use the following steps to set the Endevor Package Editor as the default editor for opening and editing SCL files.

Procedure

  1. Open the file associations preferences page by selecting from the main menu Window > Preferences, and from the left navigation General > Editors > Files Associations.
  2. Click Add to define a new file type. This will open the Add File Type dialog.
  3. Enter .scl in the File Type input field. Click OK. The file type is added to the list and associated editors for that file type are displayed.
  4. Select the Endevor Package Editor from the list and click Default. This adds the Endevor Package Editor as the default editor when opening .scl files.
