This topic describes how to generate reports from the Software
Analysis Results view.
Generating a report for a list
of results
To generate a report for a list of results:
- In the left pane, select the history containing the results that
you are interested in.
- In right pane:
- Select any line in the list of results.
- On the toolbar click
.
- In the Software Analyzer Reporting wizard:
- Select a report, such as COBOL Code Review.
- Select a type of report, HTML report or PDF
report.
- Click OK.
The report is generated.
Generating a report for an
analysis history
To generate a report for an analysis history:
- In the left pane:
- Select the analysis history that you are interested in.
- On the toolbar click
.
- In the Software Analyzer Reporting wizard:
- Select a report, such as Analysis Summary.
- Select a type of report, HTML report or PDF
report.
- Click OK.
The report is generated.
Note: History
reports for COBOL analysis are not supported at this time.
Saving an HTML
report to the file system
To save an
HTML report to the file system you must either save it from an external
browser or copy the HTML source from an internal browser to an external
file.
To save an HTML report from an external
browser:- Select web browser output to go to an external browser:
- Click .
- Select Use external web browser and select
a browser.
- Close the Preferences window.
- Generate the report in HTML format.
- The report should be displayed in the external Web browser.
Note: In some configurations the HTML output is not directed
to the external browser. If this occurs, use the internal browser.
- From the browser's toolbar, click and
follow the instructions to save the HTML output to the file system.
To save an HTML report from an internal
browser:- Select web browser output to go to an internal browser:
- Click .
- Select Use internal web browser and select
a browser.
- Close the Preferences window.
- Generate the report in HTML format:
- The report should be displayed in the internal web browser.
- Copy the HTML output from the internal Web browser to a file in
the file system.
- Right-click the report in the internal web browser.
- Click View Source.
- The default system editor, for example, Microsoft NotePad, automatically opens
and displays the HTML source.
- From the default system editor, save the HTML source to an HTML
file on the local file system.
