When creating COBOL programs you can enable bidirectional
visual editing.
If you create COBOL programs that enable bidirectional visual editing,
the following conditions are set:
- The standard editors are replaced with editors that you can use
to enter bidirectional data in Visual mode.
- Templates are generated in Smart Logical format. This format enables
correct display of bidirectional strings in any logical editor. Smart
Logical files must be converted to Visual format when being uploaded
to the host.
Note: When you use generated templates within the Database Application
Generator, it is recommended that you convert the templates to Visual
format. You can do this with the Change Bidirectional Format dialog
that is available in the Resource perspective.
