This topic describes how to create a message file.
When you create a service flow project a Schema message set is
defined for the project. The message file contains the logical and
physical model definitions of the objects in XML schema form. You
can create a message file and then create the message model objects.
You can also use the Import COBOL wizard to create and populate
a message file (see Importing COBOL structures with the Import COBOL Files wizard).
To create a new message file (
message definition file):
Start the New Message Definition File wizard:
- Right-click anywhere within the Messages folder of the interface
subproject or an outbound Web service subproject.
- Select
The New Message Definition File wizard opens.
Note: Alternatively,
you can open this wizard by selecting on the main menu of the workbench.
On the first and only page of the New Message File Definition
wizard:
- Type the File Name that you want to use for your new message
file. The file name cannot contain double byte characters.
- In the Destination project field, select
the subproject in which you want the new message file to be created.
The list contains only the interface subproject and any outbound Web
service subprojects.
- Click Finish.
The wizard creates a new message file and opens it in the message
definition editor.
If you have selected to use a target namespace, a folder structure
based on the URI that you have supplied is created.
