The DBCS model enables you to specify the NSymbol attribute in
the flow message editor. This is
useful when you are importing host terminal artifacts that contain the double-byte
G field, or G or N data types.
When you are constructing nonterminal applications without importing
host-related artifacts, the DBCS language model is not automatically added
to the message set of interface or nonterminal projects. However, some host
fields of the application could be G or N COBOL data types.
In order to
specify the NSymbol attribute in the message definition
editor, you must add DBCS model to the physical properties of
the message set. You can then specify NSymbol attributes for the G or N data
types.
