Overview of creating Insert actions

This topic provides an overview of creating Insert actions during flow recording.

You can create Insert actions during flow recording or during screen operations recording, with somewhat different results (see Comparison of results: Flow recording and screen operations recording).

You can have multiple Insert actions for the same application screen, and you can have Insert actions and Extract actions for the same application screen.

There are two separate but similar user interfaces for creating Insert actions: the Select Variable window for creating Insert actions and the Create Multiple Insert Actions window.

Table 1 shows the features available in each of these windows:
Table 1. Features of the Insert windows
Features: Create a Single Extract Action (Select Variable window) The Create Multiple Insert Actions window:
Create one or multiple Insert actions for an application screen. X X
Easily create multiple Insert actions for an application screen.   X

The two windows create Insert actions in exactly the same format.
