Rational Developer for System z

Push-to-client updates are not supported in the SCLM perspective

If you connect to a remote system from the SCLM perspective, the connection does not support push-to-client updates.
If you connect to a remote system from the SCLM perspective, and the remote system connection triggers a product update or configuration update, either of the following symptoms might occur:
When a remote system connection is made, Rational Developer for System z checks the current perspective. Push-to-client updates are disabled for any remote system connection that is made from the SCLM perspective. Users can bypass this perspective check by customizing other perspectives to include an SCLM view. If, for example, a user adds the SCLM Repository view to the z/OS Projects or Enterprise Development perspective, the user can connect from the SCLM Repository view and the connection might trigger an update. If this problem occurs, it can be resolved as described in the following section.
When connecting to a remote system that has been configured for push-to-client, connect by using the Remote Systems view instead of the SCLM perspective. If you are prompted to update while connected from the SCLM perspective, do not accept the updates. Switch to the Remote Systems view, connect to the remote system from that view, and then accept the update.
