Creating a custom build process

You can use the Rational® Developer for System z® extensible error feedback mechanism to create a custom build process. This mechanism enables you to link multiple preprocessors by capturing the feedback from one preprocessor for use an input to another.

Before you begin

Before you begin, read about the Rational Developer for System z extensible error feedback mechanism. This mechanism enables you to capture a program's error feedback and display it in the Remote Error List. It is also the mechanism that allows you to link multiple preprocessors.

Linux icon For PL/I files, Rational Developer for System z does not support local preprocessors on the Linux platform.

Procedure

To set up a custom build process involving multiple preprocessors:

  1. Set up the client for error feedback.
  2. Link multiple preprocessors using the Local Preprocessors property page
