Manually copying the output files to a remote z/OS system

You can use a file transfer program or FTP to manually copy the output files to a remote z/OS® system created by the Generate Runtime Code wizard.
Important: Alternatively, you can set an option to have the Generate Runtime Code wizard copy the output files automatically to a remote z/OS system (see Step B6. The File selection page of the Generate Runtime Code wizard and Step B7. The Selection of target locations page of the Generate Runtime Code wizard).
Important: The following topics provide useful information about the output files created by the Generate Runtime Code wizard:
To manually copy the output files to a remote z/OS system:
  1. Run the Generate Runtime Code wizard to completion.
Note: In the wizard, in this scenario, it does not matter whether or not you select to have the output files automatically copied to a target destination, because the wizard always creates an original copy of the output files for you and stores them in a subfolder of the deployment subfolder.
  2. In the EST Project Explorer, find the output files that the wizard generated (see Subfolders in which generation properties files and runtime output files are stored).

  3. On the remote z/OS system, create the target partitioned data sets (PDS's) and directories for the copy operation.

  4. Use an external file transfer program, such as a terminal emulator with FTP or such as a standalone FTP program, to copy the output files to the remote z/OS system.

The output files are copied to the PDS's or subdirectories that you specified.
