About this task
To set preferences for CICS debug
configurations:
Procedure
- To open the CICS Debug Configuration preference
page, click Window > Preferences, then expand
the Run/Debug section and click CICS
Debug Configuration.
- Use the CICS Debug Configuration page
to set the following preferences:
- IBM Debug Tool Version
- Select the version of the IBM Debug
Tool in use on your remote system. The default is 10.1. The version
of the IBM Debug Tool controls
the CICS debug configuration
user interface. For IBM Debug
Tool version 10.1, the debug configuration wizard contains fields
for entering Load Module and Compiled
Unit. For IBM Debug
Tool version 9.1, the debug configuration wizard contains a field
for entering the Program name.
- CICS debug profile server
port
- Specify the CICS debug
profile server port to use for each of the CICS regions. The list of CICS regions comes from the CICS connection. There is no default value assigned
to the port. If you try to create a debug configuration and there
is no port associated with the CICS region,
a message displays prompting you to specify a CICS debug profile server port. Contact your
system administrator to obtain the correct port number.
- Profile management
- The Delete the debug profile on the remote system upon
workbench shutdown check box is selected by default. This
option deletes all the remote debug profiles that were created or
updated by the user in a session upon shutting down Rational® Developer for System z®. Selecting this option enables Rational Developer for System z to clean up behind
users if they create or update the profiles but forget to deactivate
or delete them.
