To check in a member or group of members in the Package Explorer view,
highlight the members you want to check in, right click and select Check
In.
This function copies the contents of the locked SCLM member back to SCLM
and removes the SCLM lock. The status of the IDE file is changed to unlocked
and the Package Explorer decorator is removed. This indicates that the member
is no longer locked. Using the SCLM Status function, you can confirm the Check
In function.
When you check files in, a dialog is displayed with Language and Change
Code fields. This allows you to update the language for this member and optionally
add a change code to this edit. SCLM can be configured to enforce the requirement
of a change code. If this feature is enabled and an attempt is made to save
a file without a change code, the function fails and an error dialog is displayed.
A change code must be entered or the member cannot be saved to SCLM. Additionally,
if your site has change code user exits in place, these will be invoked prior
to a successful check in. If the check in fails, refer to the operations log
for any messages that might have been issued by a change code exit.
Note: If
you make changes to a member in the Package Explorer view before
you check the file out, you will be prompted to overwrite your changes when
you try to check out that file. If you elect to keep your changes, you should
compare your copy of the file to the copy in SCLM before you check the file
in to be sure you do not overwrite changes made by other users.
