Recall that a displayed application screen is unrecognized if the host editor cannot find among the currently loaded screen descriptions a screen description that matches the application screen (see Recognized screen description). In this situation the host editor displays in its status area the following message: The screen is unrecognized.
If screen operations recording or flow recording has not yet begun and the current application screen is unrecognized, then the behavior of the host editor depends on whether you have selected or cleared the check box Automatically capture new screens in the Service Flow Projects preferences window (see Providing screen descriptions for recording):
or the Start Recording Flow icon
the host editor automatically: (a)
captures the current application screen (that is, generates a new screen message
containing a screen description that matches the current application screen);
(b) loads the new screen description; and (c) recognizes the new screen description
as matching the current application screen. The current application screen
is now recognized.Screen not recognized window:
If you are using BMS maps and you have a BMS map that matches the current unrecognized screen, then you can select this option to import the BMS map. Follow these steps:
You can now proceed with the next step in recording (see either Recording a screen operations file or Part 2: Making the flow recording ).
If you want to manually create a screen description for the unrecognized current application screen, then you can select this option to create a new screen message containing a new screen description. Follow these steps:
Click the radio button Capture current screen and then click OK. The Capture Screen window opens.
Use the Capture Screen window to create a new screen message for the current application screen.
on the host editor's toolbar
(see Capturing
a screen in the host editor). Click this selectable message if you want to modify the Service Flow Project preferences to automatically capture a displayed host application screen that is unrecognized. Follow these steps:
Click the message Click here to update your Service Flow Project preferences to automatically capture unrecognized screens in the future. The Preferences window opens and displays the Service Flow Projects preferences.
Select the check box Automatically capture new screens (see Providing screen descriptions for recording) and click OK to close the window.
The host editor removes the Screen Not Recognized window.
The Capture Screen window opens.
At this point the situation is the same as if you had selected the Capture current screen option described earlier in this topic. Follow the steps described for the Capture current screen option (see Capture current screen).
Click the Cancel button if you do not want to continue with recording.
If screen operations recording or flow recording is in progress and the current application screen is unrecognized, then the behavior of the host editor again depends on whether you have selected or cleared the check box Automatically capture new screens in the Service Flow Projects preferences window (see Providing screen descriptions for recording):
If you have not selected the check box then recording is temporarily blocked. The host editor opens the Screen Not Recognized window.
This Screen Not Recognized window looks the same as the Screen Not Recognized window described earlier in this topic and has the same options.
