New file mappings

File Manager Integration adds two new data set extension mappings to the z/OS® Projects perspective.

The two new mappings introduced by File Manager Integration are .tmpl and .tdat. The .tmpl extension is used to define a data set as an IBM® File Manager template. The .tdat extension is used to set a data set as being targeted for editing with the Formatted Data Editor. By default, all data sets matching the pattern **.TEMPLATE, and all of their members will have the extension .tmpl appended to them. Also by default, data sets matching the pattern **.DATA will have the .tdat extension appended. Data sets that have the .tdat extension will use the Formatted Data Editor as its default editor. Although these extensions will be applied automatically in many cases, they can also be set manually in the Mappings panel of the Remote Systems view.

Once a data set has been appended with the .tdat extension, it can be opened in the Formatted Data Editor using the Open With or Open options found in the pop-up menu, or by double-clicking it.

Note: By Default, VSAM clusters are opened in the Formatted Data Editor without assigning the .tdat extension.
