MVS™ subprojects contain
the development resources that reside on an MVS system. You can create multiple subprojects
in a z/OS® project.
Procedure
To create an MVS subproject:
- From the z/OS Projects or Enterprise
Projects view pop-up menu,
click New > MVS Subproject. The New
MVS Subproject wizard opens. The Connection
Name field shows the name of the z/OS system to which you are connected.
- If you are connected to more than one system,
you can change the system under which the subproject is created by
selecting the system from the Connection Name list.
- If you are not connected to a remote system,
you can create a connection by selecting Create New Connection from
the Connection Name list. The Remote
z/OS System Connection wizard opens. See the related links
for instructions for using this wizard. After this wizard is completed,
it returns you to the New MVS Subproject wizard.
- From the Project Name list, select
the z/OS project to contain
this subproject. This field defaults to the project name
selected when you clicked the New > MVS Subproject action.
- In the Subproject Name field, type
a name for the new subproject. The High-level
Qualifier defaults to the user ID with which you logged
on to the remote system.
- Optional: You can choose a different high-level
qualifier from the High-level Qualifier list.
Note: You can also change the high-level qualifier after the
subproject has been created. See the related topics for more information
about how to change a subproject's high-level qualifier.
- Optional: In the Runtime Environment field
select a runtime environment to associate with the subproject. The runtime environment is used to associate runtime-specific
actions with projects and subprojects. You can choose from the following
runtime environments:
- Any: Enables all project and subproject
actions. This runtime environment is the default.
- Batch: This option is reserved for future
use.
- CICS: Enables CICS® actions and disables other runtime-specific
actions.
- IMS: This option is reserved for future
use.
- From the Property group area, choose
one of the following options:
- Select a property group to associate
with the new subproject: Click this radio button and then
select a property group for the new subproject. You can sort the list
by clicking the table headings. To reverse the sort order, click the
table headings again.
- Create a new property group and associate it with
the subproject. Click Finish to edit the property group: Click
this radio button to create a new property group for the subproject.
Type a name for the group in the Name field
and then click Finish to set property values.
- Do not associate the subproject with a property
group: Click this radio button to create the subproject
without associating it with a property group.
- Click Finish to create the subproject
using the property group selected. If you created
a new remote system connection, the wizard prompts you to log on to
the system
What to do next
If you choose not to associate a property group
with the subproject, you can make an association later. To associate
a property group with the subproject, select the subproject and click
Property
Group > Associate Property Group.
