Rational Developer for System z

CA Endevor Packages RAM

The CA Endevor Packages RAM allows user to access existing packages stored in CA Endevor.

The CA Endevor Packages RAM in Rational® Developer for System z® acts like any other RAM in Rational Developer for System z. Users can create connections to the RAM, define filters, and view properties as they would with any other RAM.

Connecting to the CA Endevor Packages RAM

The CA Endevor Packages RAM allows users to access packages stored in Endevor. To connect to this RAM:

  1. Create a CARMA connection to a host system running the CA Endevor Packages RAM.
  2. In the CARMA Repositories, double click on the CA Endevor Packages RAM. This action will connect you to the CA Endevor Packages RAM.
  3. The New Endevor Package View window will automatically open, and prompt you to enter parameters for a new filter. You can enter filter parameters, or click Finish to load all Endevor packages.

Viewing Properties in CA Endevor Packages RAM

CA Endevor package properties are viewable in the Properties view. Typically, this view is open in the default z/OS Projects perspective in the bottom left-hand corner. When a package is selected in the CA Endevor Packages RAM, the properties of the package are listed in tabular format in this view.

Alternatively, you can view common package properties in the CARMA Fields Table view. These properties include the most commonly accessed properties of the Endevor package such as package id, types, status, comment or description, backout enabled flag, execution window start and end date and time and package creation information.

To view these properties, use the CARMA Fields Table View to view and expand through the CA Endevor Package repository to the individual packages.

Packages listed in the CARMA Fields Table View can be grouped or sorted with other packages that have similar properties. For example, packages that have been executed can be grouped together. However, since the CARMA Fields Table View is a tree view, this sorting and grouping will be done only to children with the same parent.
