Use the Enterprise Projects view to
work with local and remote z/OS®, AIX®, Linux for System z®, Power Linux, AIX COBOL
projects, Remote C/C++ projects, and MVS™ and z/OS UNIX subprojects.
Note: The Enterprise Projects view is
the default project view shipped with the Developer for zEnterprise® edition of Rational® Developer for System z. It provides functions that are
equivalent to the z/OS Projects view, but adds
support for AIX COBOL and AIX C/C++ projects. Throughout the Rational Developer for System z helps, references
to the z/OS Projects view apply equally to the Enterprise
Projects view.
The
Enterprise Projects view
shows all local and remote z/OS, Linux for System z, AIX COBOL,
and Remote C/C++ projects you have defined and their MVS and z/OS UNIX subprojects. It also includes
any host-based projects that might be added to the view when you connect
to a remote system. By using this view, you can accomplish the following
tasks:
- Create and delete projects and subprojects.
- Rebuild projects and subprojects, which compiles all code in the
project.
- Build specific project content, which compiles the code contained
in a partitioned data set member.
- Allocate partitioned and sequential data sets.
- Launch an edit session for a specific file or partitioned data
set member.
- Move, copy, rename, and delete files or partitioned data set members.
- Add and remove remote files in a subproject.
- Check the syntax or dependencies of a file or partitioned data
set member.
- Run executable files.
- Move a project to offline state so that you can work without a
connection to the remote system.
- Move an offline project back to online state.
- Import and export projects so that you can share them with others.
- Work with the property groups associated with subprojects or files
to set build options.
- Access other Rational Developer
for System z tools, such
as debug tools, team tools, Enterprise Service Tools, and data tools.
The view also provides several toolbar functions that enable
you to control the contents of the view itself. These tools are accessible
from the drop-down menu at the top of the view.
- Show > Local Files
- Select this toggle menu item to display local files in the view.
Clear it to hide local files.

Clear it to hide remote files.

Note: Clearing this option does not
affect the editors' ability to recognize language-sensitive content
type, syntax highlighting, or other functions based on the language
type. When a file is opened in an editor, the editor title tab displays
the file extension.
