Several functions have been migrated from the CICS® Interactive user interface to the Resource
Definition Editor, IBM® CICS Explorer®, and the
System programmer administrative utility.
The migration includes the following components and their functions:
- Resource Definition Editor contains CICS resource
definition function:
- CICS resource definition
(add, edit, delete) and install or export
- CICS resource attribute
value default retrieval and attribute display permissions retrieval
are performed automatically when a resource is added to the manifest
- New copy and pipeline scan requests are performed automatically
by the Resource Definition Editor when the Install button
is clicked, or by right-clicking the manifest file, selecting Manage
CICS Resources, and selecting Rescan and phase-in.
- IBM CICS Explorer contains
- The CICS primary connection
region connection definition view on the CICS Interactive systems/regions tab is now
found in the IBM CICS Explorer preference page. Creating
a "Non CICSPlex® SM" entry
on this page also updates connection information required by list
function (see the information later in this section) remaining in CICS Interactive.
- The following list displays are now individual tabular views in
the new IBM CICS Explorer:
- DFHRPL list of concatenated load libraries
- Pipeline names and pickup directories
- Connections list of MRO-connected regions
- System programmer administrative utility contains the following
system programmer functions:
- Supply the CICSPlex name
for CICSPlex managed test
environments
- Supply CICS resource attribute
defaults and display permissions
- Supply the CICS VSAM file
logical to physical binding used for VSAM file definitions
