include more specific information about the calls that are being made
from IBM Rational® Developer for System z® File Manager.
- Pull VSAM Cluster properties:
- Selecting this option will enable File Manager to pull statistics

Formatted Data Editor preferences
To set
configuration options for the Formatted Data Editor, select "Formatted
Editor" from the tree on the left side of the panel under
"File Manager". The following options are used
to configure the Formatted Data Editor:
- Editor data set window size (Records):
- This option controls the default number of records that will show
up in the editor when an edit session is started. It is important
to note however that it does not represent a minimum or maximum number
of records that can be displayed. The number of records displayed
will change if records are added or removed within the current data
set in the editor. (for example, If the user adds or removes records
from the data set, the window size will be altered).
- Editor data set step size (Records):
- This option defines the number of records that the editor will
move up or down when traversing a data set. (for example, If records
1 - 200 are currently being displayed in the editor, choosing to step
down with a step size of 50 records would cause the editor to display
records 51 - 250).
- Undo Limit:
- The undo limit sets the number of consecutive actions that can
be undone in a given edit session. Setting the undo limit to 10 will
allow you to undo the last 10 actions that were performed during an
edit session.
- Use text on buttons for single format record navigation:
- Selecting this option will convert the record navigation buttons
in single format to display descriptive text rather then directional
arrows.
- Key highlighting color:
- This option allows you to choose the color that the Formatted
Data Editor will use to highlight keys. This option only applies to
KSDS data sets that have a key field defied.
- New or changed records
- This option allows you to choose the color that the Formatted
Data Editor will use to highlight new and changed records.
