If the subfolder does not exist when it is needed then it is created. If you create multiple generation properties files (each with a different name) for the same flow, or if you run the Generate Runtime Code wizard multiple times for the same flow, then by default the newly generated files are stored in the same default subfolder as the previously generated files.
If you do not want to use the default subfolder then you can specify another subfolder. Also, you do not have to store the generation properties file and the output files from the Generate Runtime Code wizard in the one subfolder (although it is usually convenient to do so).
<service_flow_project>/Generation/<runtime>/<flow_name>
The first term <service_flow_project> is the name of the service flow project that you are working on.
The second term Generation is the literal name of the top-level generation folder within the service flow project that you are working on. Generation properties files and output files for all the flows in a flow project by default are stored in subfolders of the Generation folder.
