Shadow line

A shadow line is a spacer displayed within the System z Data Editor that represents a group of adjacent records that have been not-selected, suppressed, or excluded from the view by the user.

There are three types of shadow lines used within the editor. All three types are explained in the following topics. Shadow lines are displayed in the editor with an icon at the left of the records they represent, and are otherwise solid gray lines. When hovering over a shadow line with your mouse cursor, the number of records contained within each shadow line is displayed. With suppressed record set shadow lines, the name of the layout associated with the records within is also displayed in addition to the number of records.

Displaying shadow lines within the editor can be turned on or off. By default, shadow lines are turned on.
