Renaming a message

You can rename a message in the EST Project Explorer, with or without refactoring.
To rename a message:
  1. In the EST Project Explorer, expand the message file (also called a message definition file) and right-click the message that you want to rename (for example, msg_ORDERINFO).

  2. Click Rename.

  3. The Rename Resource window opens:
    Enter the new resource name:
Type the new name that you want to use for the message (for example, msg_ORDERINFO_EXT.sfmxsd).
Refactor result of rename within files?
Select this check box if you want to update all the references to this message in the service flow project to the new name (see Refactoring). Clear this check box if you do not want to update the references.

  4. Click OK to rename the message, or Cancel to cancel the operation.

  5. After the refactoring operation is complete, Enterprise Service Tools opens the Commit refactoring changes window and prompts you for a response:
    • Select Yes if you want to keep the refactoring changes. (Normally, you do want to keep the changes.)
    • Select No if you want to discard the refactoring changes.
