Authentication with the Installation Manager repository

If the Installation Manager repository on which a push-to-client product update is stored requires password authentication, users must store their user IDs and passwords in Installation Manager before attempting a push-to-client update.
When attempting to install a product update by using push-to-client, users receive the following error message:
WARNING: The following repositories are not connected:

(User authentication is required.)
The repository on which the update is stored requires authentication with a user ID and password.
If the repository used for update requires user authentication to access, each user must save a user ID and password in Installation Manager before attempting to update the product.
  1. Start Installation Manager.
  2. Select File > Preferences.
  3. Click Add Repository.
  4. In the Repository field, specify the URL of a repository on the server for which you want to store your credentials.
  5. Click OK.
  6. In the Password Required window, type your user ID and password, select Save password, and click OK.
  7. On the Preferences window, click OK.
  8. Close Installation Manager.
