This topic describes how to start the Map
an Existing Service Interface (meet-in-middle) wizard
to generate Web service files.
Important: The
Map
an Existing Service Interface (meet-in-middle) wizard
is available only
when the project is not
an Enterprise Service Tools single-service project (see
Availability of the two wizards).
To start the wizard:
- Select the mapping session files for the Web service
that you want to create:
- Bidirectional Web service:
- If you want the meet-in-middle wizard to create a bidirectional
Web service, then select an request mapping
session file and an response mapping session
file.
- Unidirectional Web service:
- If you want the meet-in-middle wizard to create a unidirectional
Web service, then select just one mapping session file: either an request mapping session file or an response mapping
session file.
Right-click anywhere in the view that contains the mapping
files.
Select Generate Conversion Code. The Enterprise
Service Tools Wizard Launchpad opens.
In the launchpad:
- In the Host runtime list, select a host
runtime (see Using the Wizard Launchpad).
- In the Application mode list, select Service Provider or Service
Requester.
Note: Currently, the Service
Requester option is available in the list only when the
host runtime is IMS™ Enterprise
Suite SOAP Gateway.
- The Development scenario field is already
set to Map to an Existing Service Interface (meet-in-middle) and
is disabled.
- The Conversion type field is already set
to Compiled XML Conversion and is disabled.
Click Start.
If you selected only one mapping session file
before starting the wizard launchpad, then the launchpad now opens
a window with a message stating that selecting a single mapping session
file causes the meet-in-middle wizard to create a unidirectional Web
service
(see Step 1):
The current selection of a single mapping file generates only
unidirectional conversion code. To generate bidirectional
conversion code, select both inbound and outbound mapping files.
The Map an Existing Service Interface (meet-in-middle) wizard
opens.
