Limitations on features and capabilities when generating HATS macros or when playing flows

This topic describes certain limitations on the features and capabilities of a flow that apply in two situations: (a) when you generate a macro for the Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) runtime environment; and also (b) when you play a flow in the host editor.
This topic contains the following subtopics:

General information about these limitations

When Generate Runtime Code wizard generates a macro for the HATS runtime environment the wizard does not implement all of the features and capabilities that you can build into a flow.
Note: The wizard does implement all the features and capabilities if you generate COBOL source code for the CICS® Service Flow Runtime environment.

Therefore when you launch the Generate Runtime Code wizard to generate a macro for the HATS runtime environment the wizard checks the flow for the presence of these limited features and capabilities:

Note: For descriptions of the error messages and warning messages see CRRZE75xxx: Errors encountered when generating a macro for the HATS runtime environment.

Same limitations apply to Play Flow

The limitations on features and capabilities described above that apply when you generate a HATS macro also apply when you attempt to play a flow in the host editor (see Limitations on features and capabilities when you play a flow).

Error checking for limitations during Load Flow

The limitations on features and capabilities described above that apply when you attempt to generate a HATS macro or play back a flow also come into play in an indirect manner when you load a flow into the host editor.

When host editor loads a flow it prospectively checks the contents of the flow for substantial limitations only (see Warnings about limitations on playing the flow).

Description of the limitations

The following features are not available when you use the Generate Runtime Code wizard to generate a macro for the HATS runtime available or when you play a flow in the host editor.

Depending on the severity of the error the displays an error message or warning message and takes appropriate action (see General information about these limitations).
