Out-of-memory or script errors in Internet Explorer

If you receive out-of-memory or script errors while using online help, you might need to use a different browser.

About this task

If you are using Internet Explorer to open the online help, you might receive error messages like the following:
A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.

Out of memory at line: number
This is a known problem with Internet Explorer and a workaround is to use a different browser. You can choose another browser as follows:

Procedure

  1. Click Window > Preferences and then select Help from the list of preference pages.
  2. Click the Use external browser check box and then click Apply.
  3. Expand the list of preference pages under General and then click Web Browser. This page displays a list of browsers installed on your workstation.
  4. Click the check box next to the browser you want to use and then click Apply.
