Rational Developer for System z

Switch View Mode

You can switch between the SCLM Explorer Mode and the SCLM Developer Mode by right clicking within the SCLM view and selecting Switch View Mode. Alternatively, you can select the Switch View Mode icon from the toolbar in the SCLM view.

Note: If you are using the view for the purpose of code development, building, and promoting, then it is recommended that SCLM Developer Mode view be used. This provides the suite of functions that support this type of usage. The SCLM Explorer Mode is intended as a lightweight method of exploring SCLM datasets. While the functions for SCLM are common across each of the views, the intended behavior of the development type functions are best suited to the SCLM Developer mode

The SCLM view provides a virtual view of the SCLM repository. This can accommodate multiple project listings. Each project can then be populated with a set of project members. This populate function can be used to provide a subset of all the members through the use of filters.

The SCLM view displays the server location and port number. The project name, group, and type member are represented through a folder type hierarchy. The SCLM member names are displayed, and you can toggle the long/short name through the Show Long Names context menu item. This is described in more detail later. To perform functions on individual source members, simply select the member and right click. This displays a context menu from which any of the list of functions described in SCLM view functions can be selected.

The lists presented in the SCLM View are not automatically updated to reflect changes made outside of your SCLM Developer Toolkit session. In order to ensure that the lists reflect the current state of the SCLM libraries, you should refresh the views occasionally by repopulating the views.
