Rational Developer for System z

SCLM Preferences page

The SCLM Preferences page allows you to customize your workbench environment and operations. Use the following options to specify your preferences:
General Options
  • Display results dialog for successful operations

Select this option to display a dialog box for successful operations.

  • Check for SCLM perspective each time mapping a project

Select this option to enable the SCLM perspective each time SCLM is mapped to a project.

  • Zip File Size (Mb)

Specify the maximum size of the zip file for multi-file transfers, which allows you to specify the upper limits of the zip file. On some systems, an unlimited amount causes a file truncation error in transmission. If the transfer is greater than the set amount, multiple files are used.

  • SCLM Configuration Project Name

Enter the name of the configuration project being used. This is a temporary project that SCLM Developer Toolkit creates in the Package Explorer to facilitate the use of Eclipse functions for items in the SCLM View. You do not need to work directly with this project.

SCLM View Options
  • Save SCLM View

Select this option to save the SCLM view between sessions.

  • Explorer Mode and Developer Mode

Select either Explorer Mode or Developer Mode to indicate which SCLM View mode to use.

Operations Log Options
  • Log SCLM Operations

Select this option to log all SCLM operations. This allows you to view operations in terms of parameters passed and SCLM output.

  • Log Location

Enter the location of the log file.

  • Maximum log file age

Specify how long log files are to be kept. Once the maximum number of days has passed, SCLM Developer Toolkit will begin deleting old log files.

  • Maximum log file storage

Specify the maximum size of the log file to be retained. Once the maximum size has been reached, SCLM Developer Toolkit will begin deleting old log files.

Cached Project Information Options
  • Refresh cached project information when running the first SCLM operation in a session.

Select this option to have the project information refreshed when the first SCLM function is performed in a particular session.

  • View Cached Project Information

Click this button to view the complete list of project information.

  • Clear Project Information

Click this button to clear the cached project information.

Host Session Management
You can specify the following Host Session Management options:
  • Reuse ISPF session

Select this option to maintain TSO/ISPF sessions between SCLM service calls. If this option is not selected, a new TSO/ISPF session is initialized for each SCLM service function request.

Auto Refresh
To enable the auto refresh feature, check this option. This will enable the automatic refreshing of project filter data in the SCLM Views. To change the polling interval, enter the number of minutes between polling requests in the 'polling interval' edit box.
