This group of topics describes mappings, mapping routines, mapping
files (extension .sfmap), and types of mappings.
Mappings
Mappings allow you to retrieve, manipulate, and store data
at various points in a flow when the flow is performed.
Source elements, target elements
A source element or a target element of a mapping can be an entire
message or can be an element of a message. Also, a literal value can serve
as the source element of a mapping.
Mapping files
A mapping file (extension .sfmap) is a file that
is used for storing mapping routines and their contents (mappings).
Types of mappings
For descriptive purpose mappings can be classified into
four types: one-sided mappings, one-to-one mappings, many-to-one
mappings, and group mappings.
