| Type of action: | Operation: |
|---|---|
| AID key action | Generates an AID (Attention Identifer) key and specifies a final cursor position for the current application screen.1 |
| Input action | Types a sequence of input keys into a specified field in the current application screen.1 |
| Extract action | Reads text from a specified field or from a rectangular area of the current application screen.1 |
| Insert action | Writes text into a specified field of the current application screen.1 |
| 1 Here the "current application screen" means the application screen matching the screen description that is associated with the screen operation containing the screen interaction that contains the action. | |
When a screen interaction containing a set of actions is associated with an application screen during flow recording, then the host editor generates for each action a mapping that performs the operation by the information in the action (see How actions are implemented in mappings: AID key, Input, Extract, and Insert).
