Message file properties

This topic defines the properties that you can set to customize the message file (also called a message definition file).

Namespace

Table 1 defines the properties for the namespace in the Details section for a message file (message definition file).

Table 1. Namespace
Property Type Meaning
Prefix String The namespace prefix for the target namespace of this file. This field cannot be changed after the message file has been created.
Target Namespace String The target namespace for the message file. All global objects created within the file will have this namespace by default. This field cannot be changed after the message file has been created.

Default namespaces for local objects

Table 2 defines the properties for the default namespace in the Details section for a message file.

Property Type Meaning
Elements String The default namespace for all local elements within this message file.
Attributes String The default namespace for all local attributes within this message file.
Default block String The default value for the block attribute for all complex types and elements within this message file. Selections include: restriction, extension, substition, and #all.
Default final   The default value for the final attribute for all complex types and elements within this message file.
