The root configuration file defines the folder in which
all other host-based project definition files are located.
To configure the root configuration file, do these steps:
- Create a file called projectcfg.properties in
the installation directory, /usr/lpp/rdz of the
remote system. The root configuration file must be encoded in EBCDIC.
Tip: Copy projectcfg.properties from
the installation directory to the same customization directory where rsed.envvars resides
to avoid overwriting it when applying maintenance. In the samples
used in the Rational® Developer
for System z® Host Configuration
Guide, the customization directory is /etc/rdz.
- Include the following two key=value parameters. Change
the PROJECTHOME parameter to point to the base directory for the other
host-based project definition files. The default value is /var/rdz/projects.
#
# Specify the location of the host-based
# project definition files
#
WSED-VERSION=7.1.0.0
PROJECT-HOME=/var/rdz/projects
The following figure illustrates how to edit the root configuration
file:
- The editor shows the PROJECT-HOME parameter set to /u/cust/v700/var/wd4z/projects.
- To the right of the editor, the Remote Systems view shows the
path referred to by the PROJECT-HOME parameter. It includes two instance
files in the LONGWEL folder: GAMCOBOLPROJECT.hbpin and mvsproject1.hbpin.
- To the left of the editor, the z/OS® Projects
view shows two host-based projects corresponding to the instance files:
GAMCOBOLPROJECT and mvsproject1.
