To set up the connection to a DB2® UDB zSeries® database, do the following:
- Right-click in the Database Explorer view and click New
Connection. The New Connection wizard
opens.
- Enter the settings of the database connection:
| Connection name: |
Name that you want to appear in the Database
Explorer view. To use the default naming convention, click Use
default naming convention. |
| Select a Database manager: |
Expand DB2 UDB zSeries and select the version
of DB2 installed on the remote
system. |
| JDBC Driver: |
Select IBM DB2 Universal. |
| Connection URL details |
Specify the location name of the database in
the Location field and the TCP/IP host name
for the database server in the Host field.
Accept the defaults for the remaining fields. |
| User ID: |
User ID for the database. |
| Password: |
Password for the database. |
- Click Finish after you have entered
the settings.
In addition to setting up a connection to a DB2 UDB zSeries database,
you can use the connection wizard to set up a connection to a local
database.
