Rational Developer for System z, Version 7.6

Step B3(d). Create directories on z/OS UNIX System Services

Contact your systems administrator to determine if the required directories were set up during the installation of CICS® Service Flow Runtime on your z/OS® server.

If not, then ask your systems administrator to set up these directories.

The rest of this topic contains information about setting up these directories.

You can use the Remote Systems view in the Enterprise Service Tools perspective to set up directories on z/OS UNIX® System Services to contain output files such as the service flow properties file, a WSDL file for a Web service, or a WSBind file for a Web service.

When you run the Generate Runtime Code wizard, you specify these directories as the destinations to which you want the wizard to copy these output files (see JES, MVS, and connections -- when needed and Step B7. The Selection of target locations page of the Generate Runtime Code wizard).

For suggestions for a directory structure see Tips for creating subdirectories on z/OS UNIX System Services.

You can also create directories on z/OS UNIX System Services in the Generate Runtime Code wizard (see Step B7. The Selection of target locations page of the Generate Runtime Code wizard).

To create directories using the Remote Systems view:

  1. In the Enterprise Service Tools perspective, in the Remote Systems view, expand the connection (for example, company.com) to the remote system to which you want the Generate Runtime wizard to copy the output files.

  2. Start the z/OS UNIX System Services connection if it is not already started (see Step B3(b). Start the connection to the remote z/OS system).

  3. Expand the z/OS UNIX Files subnode.

  4. Perform the following steps for each directory that you want to create:
    1. Expand the directory structure to expose an existing directory (such as cicsts32) that you want to be the parent directory of the directory that you are creating.
    2. Right-click the directory (cicsts32).
    3. Select New > Folder. The New Folder wizard opens.
    4. In the New Folder wizard:
      1. In the Folder name field, type the name (such as wspickup) of the new directory that you want to create.
      2. Click Finish.

      The directory is created.
