Using array elements

When the source element or the target element of a mapping is an array, then the Cardinality tab of the Properties view allows you to specify an array element as the source element or the target element of the mapping.

To specify a single array element as a source element or as a target element of a mapping:

  1. In the Outline view, in the mapping routine area, verify that the selected source element or the selected target element is an array.

  2. In the Properties view, click the Cardinality tab.

  3. In the Cardinality tab:

    1. If a Source array index input field is present, specify the single array element that you want to be the source element.

    2. If a Target array index input field is present, specify the single array element that you want to be the target element.

To specify a single array element, specify the index of the array element. You can specify:
    • A literal integer
    • An ESQL expression that resolves to an integer.
Note: The lowest valid index is 1.
Tip: If an error icon Error appears at the left of an input field, you can display a description of the error by hovering the mouse pointer icon over the error icon.
