Overview of generating output for the Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) runtime environment

This section gives an overview of generating output for the Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) runtime environment.

When you generate output for the Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) runtime environment, your objective is to create a HATS macro and run it on your HATS server.

The following is an overview of the steps that you need to follow:
  1. With the Enterprise Service Tools:
    1. Create a generation properties file for your completed flow:
      • Use the New Generation Properties wizard to create a generation properties file.
      • Use the generation properties editor to modify an existing generation properties file.
        • You can use the generation properties editor at any time to modify an existing generation properties file.
        • Also, for convenience, when the New Generation Properties wizard terminates, the generation properties editor opens the new generation properties file that has just been created so that you can make changes in it if you want to.
    2. Generate the HATS macro:
      • Use the Generate Runtime Code wizard to create the output file. This wizard needs the following files as input:
        • A generation properties file, such as the one that you created in the previous step.
        • A flow, such as the flow that you have created.
      • The Generate Runtime Code wizard creates the following output file:
        • A HATS macro.

  2. Transfer the HATS macro to your HATS server.

  3. Add the HATS macro to your HATS program.
