Rational Developer for System z, Version 7.6

Step B5. Start the Generate Runtime Code wizard

You can start the Generate Runtime Code wizard by right-clicking a generation properties file or a flow file and then selecting Generate > Generate Runtime Code, or by clicking the Generate Runtime Code button in the generation properties editor.

Important:

To start the Generate Runtime Code wizard:

  1. In the EST Project Explorer, right-click the generation properties file that you modified in Part 2.

Note: Alternatively, in the Flows folder, you can right-click any flow. Then you can specify a particular generation properties file on the first page of the wizard.
  2. Select Generate > Generate Runtime Code.

  3. At this point the Generate Runtime Code wizard might open the Save Resource window:

    1. The Generate Runtime Code wizard, before displaying its first page, checks to see whether you have made any change to a resource in the current workspace that you have not saved (for example, a change to a message file that you have not saved). These unsaved resources need not be resources that are used by the flow or even by the service flow project for which you are running the wizard.

    2. In any resource is unsaved, then the wizard opens the Save Resource window and prompts you to select an action:
      Yes
Click this button if you want to save all unsaved resources to the appropriate files and then run the wizard.
Note: If a file contains resources needed by the Generate Runtime Code wizard, then the wizard takes input from the saved file.
      No
Click this button if you want to run the wizard without first saving any unsaved changes. The unsaved changes are not lost. After the wizard has terminated, you can still save the changes or decide not to save them.
Note: If a file contains resources needed by the Generate Runtime Code wizard, then the wizard takes input from the saved file. The unsaved changes are not included.
      Cancel
Select this button if you decide not to run the wizard.

The Generate Runtime Code wizard opens.

As a convenience, you can also start the Generate Runtime Code wizard by clicking the Generate Runtime Code button in the generation properties editor (see Guide to the generation properties editor).
