Adding items to composites and components by using the palette

The composite diagram editor is a graphical environment for laying out and composing your SCA application. You can select and add items to the editor canvas by using the palette.
To add items to a composite or a component by using the palette, complete the following steps:
  1. Double-click a composite name in the EST Project Explorer view to open a composite in the Composite Editor.
  2. If the palette is not visible, click the Show Palette icon (Show Palette) in the top right corner of the editor.
  3. Select an item from the palette that you want to add to the composite or component. You can add components, references, services, and wires.
  4. Move the pointer over a blank area in the canvas area or over a component. An Add icon (Add icon) is displayed with the pointer indicating that an item can be added.
  5. Click in the canvas area or in a component.
