Rational Developer for System z, Version 7.6

Increase Message Size of XML Messages (Request and Response)

This topic describes the option to allow users of the Enterprise Service Tools (EST) single-service projects to set a specific level of the Enterprise COBOL compiler level with which users intend to compile the generated COBOL converters.

This option can be set through the EST COBOL XML Converters preferences page, Advanced [generation] Options tab (see Setting preferences for COBOL XML converters), and can also be set through in the command-line batch processor (see the property COBOL_COMPILER_LEVEL in CodegenProperty).

Description

This option directs the COBOL converter generators to generate code based on a specific level of the Enterprise COBOL compiler. By selecting the appropriate version of the compiler, the user can, for example, take advantage of the increased data size limits. Specifically, if the user selects compiler version 3.4, the request and response XML messages can be up to 32 MB in size.
