Deleting a source message or a target message

To delete a source message or a target message from a mapping routine, click the message header and then click the Delete Delete icon on the toolbar of the mapping routine area. (Alternatively, you can delete the source message or target message using the contextual menu.)

When you delete a message from a mapping routine in the mapping editor, you are deleting only a reference to the actual message (see Not the message itself, but a reference to the message).

To delete a source message or a target message:

  1. In the mapping routine area, click the message header. The message header is the topmost field of the message and displays the name of the message.

  2. On the toolbar of the mapping routine area, click Delete Delete.

The mapping editor deletes the selected item.

Equivalent method using the contextual menu:

You can also delete a message using the contextual menu:

  1. In the mapping routine area, right-click the header of the message that you want to delete.

  2. Select Delete.

The mapping editor deletes the message that you right-clicked.
