The EST Project Explorer

The EST Project Explorer displays a hierarchical and conceptual view of the projects, subprojects, folders, subfolders, and artifacts in your workspace.

To open the EST Project Explorer if it has been closed see Opening or reopening a view. To open the EST Project Explorer from another perspective see Opening the EST Project Explorer view from another perspective.

The EST Project Explorer includes a main window, a toolbar, a drop-down menu, and a contextual menu. You can also create a new project by selecting File > New and selecting the type of project that you want to create.

This help topic contains the following subtopics:

Main window

The main window of the EST Project Explorer displays a tree view of the service flow projects and the single-service projects that are contained in your workspace, together with their component subprojects, folders, subfolders, and artifacts (see The folders and subprojects in a service flow project and Folders and subfolders in a single-service project).

In general, you can perform the following types of actions in the main window:

Link editor to EST Project Explorer This command toggles whether the selected resource in the EST Project Explorer is automatically linked to the active editor. When this option is selected, and you are using multiple editors in the editor area:
  • Selecting an editor (and therefore making it topmost) in the editor area automatically causes the resource that is being edited to become selected in the EST Project Explorer view.
  • Similarly, selecting a resource in the EST Project Explorer that is being edited automatically causes the editor that is editing the resource to become selected (topmost) editor in the editor area.
Drop-down menu
(Drop-down menu) See Drop-down menu (for creating new projects and artifacts).
