You can use Rational® Developer
to generate the Job Control Language (JCL) for an MFS file, either
from an existing PDS on the z/OS® host
or an MVS™ subproject.
To create the JCL for an MFS file, complete the following steps:
- Select the .mfs format definition file name.
- Right-click, and select Properties from
the menu.
- In the MFS Settings dialog, specify the destination library. Set
the other options as you want.
- Select the .mfs format definition file name.
- From the pop-up menu, select .
- Specify the target PDS for the generated JCL and the member name.
You can also set a different job name.
- Click OK to complete the generation process.
If
the member name already exists, you are prompted to overwrite the
member.
If the target PDS does not exist, an error message is
returned.
You can use the JES subsystem to track the generated
job.
To submit the JCL, complete the following steps:
- Select the generated JCL file name in the PDS.
- From the pop-up menu, select Properties.
Set the values that you want.
- Select the JCL file name.
- From the pop-up menu, select Submit.
You can use the JES subsystem to track the process.
