Not-selected records

Records that do not meet predefined selection criteria are considered not-selected records.

When a formatted edit session is performed on a data set with a given template, File Manager uses the template to apply any record selection criteria that is predefined in the template. Any records not matching the selection criteria are considered not-selected and are displayed in the Formatted Data Editor as a shadow line. The shadow line is like the shadow line used in IBM® File Manager under ISPF. In order to bring the not-selected records back into view, the selection criteria in the template must be modified using the Template Editor. After modifying a template, the Formatted Data Editor must be restarted for the changes to take effect.
