The Basic tab is linked with the Advanced tab, the Properties tab, and the Outline view so that when you select or modify a message element in one member of the group the other members are updated immediately to reflect the same state.
Therefore if you are working in the Basic tab and you need an advanced function you can quickly switch to the Advanced view, make the change, and return to the Basic view.
Undo and Redo are supported.
If a message element contains an error it is decorated with a warning icon and an error message is displayed at the top of the editor view.
Right-clicking a message or a message element opens a pop-up menu. Table 1 shows the actions that are available for each type of element:
The right pane of the Basic tab displays a subset of the properties of the particular element that is selected in the left pane and allows you to modify the properties. Table 2 shows the properties of each type of element:
