Outline view

This topic describes the Outline view.

When the flow editor is active, the Outline view of the workbench by default lists all the nodes in the currently opened flow. The nodes are grouped by type and within each type the nodes are listed in the order in which they were created. (The Sort button lists the nodes in alphabetical order within each group.) Expanding an entry displays the entry's connection to the next node. If you select a resource in the Outline view, that resource is selected on the flow editor's canvas.

If the flow contains a While node then the Outline view also lists the nodes in the flow invoked by the While node. Clicking a node in the flow invoked by the While node displays the contents of that flow on the flow editor canvas (see Editing the flow invoked by a While node).

The Overview Mode button changes the Outline view to display a zoomed-out image of the flow editor's entire canvas, including a representation of the viewport formed by the flow editor's editor area. You can shift the viewport and therefore control which area of the canvas is visible within the flow editor's editor area:
  • By dragging the viewport area with the mouse in the Outline view; or
  • By using the arrow keys (if the Outline view has the input focus).
