Creating a root configuration file

The root configuration file defines the folder in which all other host-based project definition files are located.
To configure the root configuration file, do these steps:
  1. Create a file called projectcfg.properties in the installation directory, /usr/lpp/rdz of the remote system. The root configuration file must be encoded in EBCDIC.
    Tip: Copy projectcfg.properties from the installation directory to the same customization directory where rsed.envvars resides to avoid overwriting it when applying maintenance. In the samples used in the Rational® Developer for System z® Host Configuration Guide, the customization directory is /etc/rdz.
  2. Include the following two key=value parameters. Change the PROJECTHOME parameter to point to the base directory for the other host-based project definition files. The default value is /var/rdz/projects.
