Rational Developer for System z, Version 7.6

Viewing the application screen corresponding to a screen operation

When the Actions tab of the screen operations editor is active, and you select anywhere within a screen operation in the Outline view (not in the editor area), the screen operations editor displays in the Actions tab an image of the application screen.

This feature is useful when you are using the screen operations editor to edit a screen operations file and you want to verify that a screen operation corresponds to the application screen that you think it corresponds to. (Also, the screen operations editor uses this screen image to facilitate creating or modifying actions contained in the screen operations file.)

To see an image of the application screen that the screen operation references:
  1. Verify that the screen operations editor is open and that the Actions tab is selected.
  2. In the Outline view, click anywhere within the screen operation that you are interested in. (If the Outline view is not visible, see Opening or reopening a view.)
The screen operations editor displays in its Actions tab an image of the application screen that the screen operation references.
Note: The screen operations editor gets the information for the image of the application screen from information stored in the screen message file to which the screen description referenced by the screen operations file belongs (see Screen operation).
