Properties view

The Properties view of the mapping editor displays the properties of the item that is currently selected in the editor area and in the Outline view.

The Properties view is linked to the Outline view and the editor area, in that the Properties view displays the properties (if any) of the item that is currently selected in the editor area and in the Outline view (see Linked views).

Properties of the mapping file

Selecting anywhere in the Mapping Root area of the mapping editor (including the TwistieMapping Root control, the mapping file name, and any blank area of the surrounding Mapping Root canvas) causes the properties of the mapping file to be displayed in the Properties view.

You can edit the displayed properties by using the controls in the Properties view.

Property: Description:
Namespace The namespace containing the XML schemas that define the types and messages in the message file.

Properties of the currently displayed mapping routine

Selecting the mapping routine area of the mapping editor (including the mapping routine control -- for example, TwistieMR_0001 -- and also including any blank area of the surrounding mapping routine canvas) causes the properties of the currently displayed mapping routine to be displayed in the Properties view.

You can edit the displayed properties by using the controls in the Properties view.

Name The name of the currently displayed mapping routine (see Selecting a mapping routine to work on).

Properties of the currently selected message

Selecting a source message or a target message in the Outline view or in the editor area causes the properties of the selected message to be displayed in the Properties view. The mapping editor obtains these values from the message file in which the message is located.

You can modify these properties in the flow message editor (see Modifying a source message or a target message).

Type The type of the currently selected message
Namespace The namespace containing the XML schemas that define the types of the field or structure.

Properties of the currently selected field or structure

Selecting a field or a structure within a message in the editor area causes the properties of the selected structure or message to be displayed in the Properties view. The mapping editor obtains these values from the message file in which the message is located.

You can modify these properties in the flow message editor (see Modifying a source message or a target message).

Properties of the currently selected transform

Selecting a transform on the mapping routine canvas causes the properties of the selected transform to be displayed in the Properties view.

The type and number of the properties that are displayed the Properties view depend on the type of the selected transform.

Important: When the properties of a transform are displayed in the Properties view, you can use the controls in the Properties view to select the type of transform that you want to use and to modify the properties of the selected transform.
