AID Key action

An AID Key action generates a specified AID (Attention Identifer) key and indicates the position of the text cursor on the application screen when the AID key was generated.

An AID key is a key that causes an attention identifier (AID) to be sent to a host application running on a remote z/OS® system, together with the location of the text cursor and any parts of the application screen that have been modified. AID keys include the program function (PF) keys, the Clear key, the Enter key, the Home key, and others.

When an AID key action is played, the effect on the session is exactly the same as if a human operator had pressed the corresponding AID key on the keyboard.

A screen interaction can include no more than one AID key (see Adding an action).

An AID Key action includes the following properties:
Property: Description:
AID Key Required string. This property specifies the AID Key.
Column Required integer. This property specifies the column location of the text cursor. See Using point-and-click to modify Row and Column properties.
Row Required integer. This property specifies the row location of the text cursor. See Using point-and-click to modify Row and Column properties.
