This topic and its subtopics describe how to build a local
or remote z/OS® project and
how to set build options.
You can use the
Rebuild Project action on
the z/OS Projects view to build
a local or remote z/OS project.
- Workstation COBOL and PL/I projects (or local projects) use Windows COBOL and PL/I compilers
for project builds.
- Remote project builds and other functions use JCL procedure support
to oversee application builds (including compile, link, and DB2® bind). See JCL Procedure support for details on
the implementation for remote builds.
Note: Although the workbench includes a preference for specifying
whether changes to source files cause an automatic project rebuild,
that setting is not used for MVS™ subprojects or local projects. Builds for
such projects occur only on your demand, independent of the preference
setting.
