Basic settings

This topic defines the basic properties (basic settings) of a host connection.
Table 1. Basic settings
Setting: Description:
Host name This is the host name or the host IP address for the connection.
Port This is the TCP/IP port defined for the connection.
Type This is the session type for the connection. The available session types are:
  • 3270
  • 3270E
  • 5250
Code page This is the code page for the connection.
Screen size This is the screen size for the connection.
Description This is a verbal description of the host connection. This description appears in a floating window when you move the mouse pointer icon over the host connection file in the Hosts subfolder of the specified terminal applications subproject in your service flow project.
Note: In the New Host Connection wizard, this field is on the first page of the wizard, with the Destination properties.
Note: In the Host Connection Settings wizard, this field appears after the File name field.
