Connecting a local project to a remote system

You can connect a local project to a remote system and map local files to remote data sets.
A local project is one in which resources are created and stored locally. You can create a local z/OS® project, for example, when you want to compile your COBOL or PL/I applications to run on a Windows or AIX® workstation. Rational® Developer for System z® provides a suite of tools, such as Enterprise Service Tools and Database Application Generator, that create local projects containing host-based resources.
