Flow message editor: Properties tab

The Properties tab of the flow message editor allows you to change the properties of an item that you have selected in the Basic tab, in the Advanced tab, or in the Outline view.

Properties hierarchy

The Properties hierarchy (left pane) displays three groups of properties: Logical properties, Physical properties, and Documentation properties. You can expand any of these groups to view the properties that it contains. The properties that are displayed in a group depend on the type of the item that is currently selected in the Basic tab, the Advanced tab, and or the Outline view.

You can perform certain types of operations on a property or a group in the Properties hierarchy by right-clicking the item and then clicking an operation in the resulting pop-up menu. (Examples: Undo, Redo, Delete, and others).

Also, selecting Physical properties displays a link that you can click to edit the appropriate message set file in the message set editor. If you add or modify an item in the message set then the change is automatically reflected in the Properties hierarchy.

Details pane

The Details pane (right pane) displays the properties of the item selected in the Properties hierarchy. You can modify the value of a property by clicking the appropriate field and then typing or selecting a value.

The properties that you can set for the message file are shown in Table 1.
