Outline view

The Outline view of the mapping editor displays a hierarchical tree containing nodes that correspond to the mapping routines, messages, and transforms of the currently opened mapping file.

The Outline view is linked to the editor area and the Properties view in that selecting a mapping routine, message, or transform in the Outline view causes the same item to be selected or its contents to be displayed in the editor area, and also causes the properties of the item to be displayed in the Properties view (see Linked views).

Selecting a mapping routine to work on: Selecting a mapping routine in the Outline view causes the name and contents of the mapping routine to be displayed in the editor area. This is the only way for you to switch between mapping routines in the editor area (see Selecting a mapping routine to work on).

Contextual menu for the Outline view

The contextual menu for the Outline view opens whenever you right-click any portion of the Outline view while the mapping editor is active. Some of the contents of the contextual menu are different depending on where the right-click occurs (over a blank area, over a node, or over a particular type of node).
