In this section your will add descriptors to the screen
descriptions.
Screens are associated with screen descriptions to assist in screen
recognition logic. Each time that a screen is recorded during flow
recording, the host editor creates a screen description containing
default descriptors: a number of input fields descriptor, a total
number of fields descriptor, and a checksum descriptor. (You can use
the standard default descriptors or specify others). For more information
on screen descriptions and descriptors, see Creating a screen message and Screen message, screen description, descriptor.
Add a screen descriptors to each of the screens that were captured
when you recorded the flow:
- Open the first screen description in the screen message editor:
- In the EST Project Explorer, expand SampleProject.Terminal and Messages.
- Right-click blank_1_fields.sfmxsd and click Open.
The
screen message editor opens.
- Click the Screen Descriptions tab at the
bottom of the editor area.
- Expand the Descriptions tree.
- When a screen is recorded, the host editor creates a screen description
containing three descriptors: Fields, Input Fields,
and Fields Checksum. This tutorial adds a Field
Pattern descriptor.
- Right-click blank_1_fields and click .
- This screen contains only one field (which covers the entire application
screen). Therefore, click once, anywhere in Field 1, to add the descriptor.
In the Properties view, Field1 should appear as the Field and Pattern should
contain 1920 blank space characters.
- Save the changes to the screen description by pressing Ctrl-S.
- Close the screen message editor.
- Repeat Steps 1-8 for the other two screens.
- For FileInquir_1.sfmxsd, use the field containing FILE
INQUIRY for the field pattern descriptor:
- For OperatorIn_1.sfmxsd, use the field containing OPERATOR
INSTRUCTIONS as the field pattern descriptor:
