This topic describes how to undo and redo actions performed
within the Formatted Data Editor.
The Formatted Data Editor has the ability to undo and redo actions
that were performed during an edit session. This functionality is
new with File Manager Integration, and is simple to use. Undo/Redo
can be used to reverse the outcome of almost any action that can be
performed within the Formatted Data Editor. It can be used with:
- Adding records
- Removing records
- Cut/Copy/Paste
- Field editing
The ability to undo and redo actions is only available on a data
set before changes are saved to the host. Once a save is performed,
the actions you performed during an edit session become permanent
unless you manually perform them again. By default, the Formatted
Data Editor will retain in memory the last 10 actions that were performed,
allowing you to undo or redo your last 10 actions. This can be increased
or decreased by changing the Undo Limit located
in the Preferences panel.
To undo or redo an action:
- Select Undo or Redo from
the pop-up menu.
- Select Undo or Redo from
the Edit menu.
- Press Ctrl+Z to undo or Ctrl+Y to
redo.
