Sorting

This topic describes how to sort records within the Formatted Data Editor.
Sorting allows you to rearrange the order of records in a data set based on multiple fields or columns that you select. Sorting can be performed on both formatted and unformatted data sets. Records can be sorted within the Formatted Data Editor using the following methods:
Note: Sorting is only available on data sets that are loaded in memory. If your data sets are larger than the memory currently allocated for File Manager, additional memory may be needed. In addition, sorting is not available on data sets opened in an In Place edit session.
