The host editor is the default editor provided for editing host
connection files (hostConnection.host). The host editor is also used
for recording flows and screen operations files and for playing back flows
and screen operations.
When the host editor is started
The host editor is started when you create a host file, when you
open a host connection file, or when you choose to create a terminal
flow in the New Service Flow Project wizard.
Views in the host editor
The host editor uses the editor area, the Outline view, and the
Properties view.
Terminal tab
The Terminal tab is displayed when you first open the host editor.
You can activate this tab whenever the host editor is active, by clicking
the Terminal tab at the bottom left corner of the editor
area.
Properties tab
The Properties tab of the host editor allows you to change
the properties of the host connection file that is opened
when you start the host editor.
Source tab
The Source tab of the host editor is a text editor that displays
the contents of the currently opened host connection in XML text format. (EST
uses XML text as the format in which most of its artifacts are stored). Do
not use this editor to modify the XML text unless you have a good understanding
of XML and of the files created by the Enterprise Service Tools.
