To debug a local z/OS® project,
you need to set options in a debug configuration.
Before creating a debug configuration for a local z/OS project, do the following
steps:
- Create a local z/OS project.
- In the project properties, specify the TEST compiler
option and the /DE link option.
- Select the project and click Rebuild Project from
the pop-up menu.
To create a debug configuration for a local z/OS project, do these steps:
- In the z/OS Projects
view, select the local project.
- From the pop-up menu, select Debug as > Debug.
- In the Debug window, select Compiled Application from
the list and then select New from the pop-up
menu. The new configuration page opens with the name
of the project you selected in the Project field.
- In the Name field, type a name for
the debug configuration. One option is to give the configuration
the same name as the project.
- In the Program field, type the fully
qualified name of the program you want to debug. The program
name must include the full path of the Rational® Developer for System z® workspace. You can click Browse to
find the program name.
- Click Apply to save the debug configuration.
After you have saved the debug configuration, you can click Close to
close the Debug window or Debug, to debug the
program. If you select Debug, Developer for System z prompts you to switch
to the Debug perspective.
