Working with the Transformation Parameters Editor

The Transformation Parameters Editor enables you to create and modify parameters for model elements defined in an external target model, storing the transformation parameters in a .tpm file. You can add, remove, enable, and disable transformations that are applicable for particular model elements, and modify transformation properties for a particular element.
To work with the Transformation Parameters Editor, complete the following steps:
  1. Invoke the Transformation Parameters Editor in one of the following ways:
    • Create a new Database Application Project, selecting the tables on which you want to create applications. The TPM file is created by the Database Application Project wizard and the file opens in the Transformation Parameters Editor.
    • Use the EGL MDD Application wizard with an existing UML file. At the end of processing, the TPM file for the UML model is created and the file opens in the Transformation Parameters Editor.
    • Click on any UML file in the workspace and select Edit Transformation Parameters. The Create a New TPM File wizard opens. After the TPM file wizard has completed processing, the TPM file for the UML model is created and the file opens in the Transformation Parameters Editor.
Attention: In order to use Automatic Remote Deployment, you must define a Remote System Explorer connection before running the transformation.
  2. In the Transformation Parameters Editor, click Manage applied transformations to add, remove, or change the order of selected transformations. Add the z/OS Data Access transformation to the list.
  3. Optionally, enable and configure bidirectional transformation. For information, see Bidirectional considerations.
Some of the generated JCL artifacts might need further customization in order to work correctly in certain environments.
