Using the Properties tab of the flow message editor

The Properties tab of the flow message editor allows you to modify the logical properties, the physical properties, and other properties of a variable, a type, or a group.

Modifying properties

To modify a property of a variable, a type, or a group:
  1. Select the variable, type, or group in the Basic tab or in the Advanced tab.
  2. Click the Properties tab. On this tab:
    1. In the left pane, titled Properties Hierarchy, select the type of property that you want to modify. For example, select Logical Properties > Local Element.
    2. In the right pane, titled Details, type or select a new value for the property.

The flow message editor updates the property of the selected variable, type, or group.

Modifying physical properties using the message set editor

For the physical properties of a variable the flow message editor prompts you to use the message set editor. In the Properties tab:
  • In the left pane click Physical Properties.
  • In the right pane click New Physical Formats are created in the message set editor. The message set editor opens in a new tab. In the message set editor:
    1. Modify the properties that you want to modify.
    2. Close the message set editor.
