Terminal emulation area

The terminal emulation area of the Terminal tab of the host editor is the large central rectangular area that displays an active display session. The settings for this display session are read by the host editor from the host connection file when you open the host editor.
The host editor includes the following controls for managing the display session:
  • You can start or stop the session using the following icons in the host editor's toolbar (see Toolbar):
Table 1. Icons for connecting to remote z/OS® system
    Icon: Function:
    Connect to Host
    Connect to Host
    Disconnect from Host
    Disconnect from Host
These two icons occupy the same position on the toolbar. The Connect to Host icon is displayed when the session is disconnected, and the Disconnect from Host icon is displayed when the session is connected.
  • You can edit the session settings using the controls in the Properties tab of the host editor (see Properties tab).
  • You can get access to buttons for the AID keys and see textual OIA information in the drawer containing AID keys and textual OIA information (see Drawer containing AID keys and textual OIA information).
