In order to use bidirectional features for a project, you must enable bidirectional
support before you create the project. To access the Bi-directional Settings
Page, select Preferences -> Team -> SCLM Preferences ->
BIDI Settings Page from the main Eclipse Window menu. If the bidirectional
configuration changes at the host, you should refresh the project information
at the workstation.
Bidirectional preferences
You can set the following
options on the Bi-directional Settings Page:
- Bidirectional enabled
- Check this box to enable bidirectional support for the current project.
The following attributes can be set separately for each
added language. For each language in the project, the default local bidirectional
attributes are used except for languages added in the preferences page (they
override the default local bidirectional attributes).
- Text Type (Logical or Visual)
- For bidirectional sessions, the default display text type is Logical.
This option sets the local text type bidirectional attribute for the language
as Logical.
- Text Orientation (Right-to-Left or Left-to-Right)
- For bidirectional sessions, the default display text type is Left-to-Right.
This option sets the local text direction for the language as Left-to-Right.
- Symmetric Swapping
- In right-to-left files, swapping characters are replaced with their directional
opposites. For example, in a right-to-left string, the (and) will be reversed.
This option is available for Arabic connections only.
- Numeric Swapping
- In right-to-left files, existing English numerals are replaced by Arabic
numerals, and Arabic numerals are replaced by the English equivalents. This
option is available for Arabic connections only.
