Setting up the connection to a DB2 UDB zSeries database

To set up the connection to a DB2® UDB zSeries® database, do the following:
  1. Right-click in the Database Explorer view and click New Connection. The New Connection wizard opens.
  2. Enter the settings of the database connection:

    Connection name: Name that you want to appear in the Database Explorer view. To use the default naming convention, click Use default naming convention.
    Select a Database manager: Expand DB2 UDB zSeries and select the version of DB2 installed on the remote system.
    JDBC Driver: Select IBM DB2 Universal.
    Connection URL details Specify the location name of the database in the Location field and the TCP/IP host name for the database server in the Host field. Accept the defaults for the remaining fields.
    User ID: User ID for the database.
    Password: Password for the database.
  3. Click Finish after you have entered the settings.
In addition to setting up a connection to a DB2 UDB zSeries database, you can use the connection wizard to set up a connection to a local database.
