To create multiple projects for your COBOL files, use the AIX® COBOL Projects wizard.
About this task
To create multiple AIX COBOL
projects:
Procedure
- Select File > New > AIX COBOL
Projects. The AIX COBOL
project wizard will open with the Import to Remote Projects page
displayed.
- Use the Connection field pull-down to select the
Remote Systems Explorer connection that you wish to import the projects
from. Click New if you wish to create a new connection. Select
the folders to import. Click Next.
Note: Do not create projects
pointing to the same project location on the remote host in multiple
IDEs. This will cause unexpected behavior to occur.
- The remote location root will be generated for the selected
folders. New projects will have the same name as its folder name.
- Enable Associate a local location if you wish to
have a local project. If you wish to use source control, work disconnected
from the AIX machine, or wish
to use a mounted folder, you will want a local project.
- If you wish to use a location other than the default,
disable Use default location, and enter or browse for the location
in Location.
Note: If you are using a
mounted directory, ensure that it corresponds to the remote location.
- If you are not using a mounted directory, select Work
with local copy of files, push file changes to remote location.
If you are using a mounted directory, select Local location
is a mounted folder pointing to the remote location. In this case,
enabling Validate mount location will do some checking to make
sure the remote location and the local location match.
- Click Finish.
Results
