The properties view for a defined remote server is a read-only
view.
A defined remote server is a data source that is defined
to a federated database. You can connect to a defined remote server and access
the remote data sources. All of the defined remote servers for a federated
database are listed in the Defined Remote Servers folder.
General page
This page is a read-only view that
provides information about the defined remote server.
- Name
- This field shows the name of the defined remote server.
- Label
- This field shows the label of the data source. For example, in some database
systems, you can use a LABEL statement to add or replace labels in the descriptions
of tables, views, aliases, or columns in the catalog at the current server.
- Type
- This field shows the server type for the data source.
- Version
- This field shows the server version for the data source.

This page shows the schemas and the
nicknames for the data source.
Options page
This page shows the option names and
values for the data source.

This page shows the user comments
about the data source.
