Configuring a DB2 for z/OS subsystem
from the InfoSphere Optim Query Tuner client
You can connect to a DB2® for z/OS® subsystem
from the InfoSphere Optim™ Query Tuner client and
configure the subsystem for query tuning with a wizard in the client.
To configure a DB2 for z/OS subsystem
for query tuning from the InfoSphere Optim Query Tuner client:
Optional: Specify whether to preserve the contents
of and privileges for the EXPLAIN tables during the migration process. By default, the contents and privileges are preserved during
the migration process.
From the main menu, click Window > Preferences.
In the Preferences window, expand
the Data Management branch, and click Query
Tuner to change these settings.
In the Data Source Explorer,
right-click the database icon for the DB2 for z/OS subsystem,
and click Analyze and Tune > Configure for Tuning > Guided Configuration.
Follow the instructions in the wizard.
Verify that the subsystem is configured for query or query-workload
tuning. In the Data Source Explorer,
right-click the subsystem that you configured, and then click Analyze and Tune > Configure for Tuning > Advanced Configuration and Privilege Management.
You can check the status of the Query Tuner packages,
Query Tuner tables, EXPLAIN tables, and the query or query-workload
tuning features in this window.
What to do next
To start tuning in the workflow assistant for query tuning,
right-click the connection in the Data Source Explorer, then click Analyze and Tune > Start Tuning.
