When you migrate a workspace from Optim™
Development Studio Version 2.2.1 or earlier to Data Studio,
routine files are not automatically migrated to the Data Studio routine file format. To migrate a routine file,
you must make a change to the routine with the routine editor and save it.
A routine file
is a file that contains a stored procedure, a user-defined function, or a PL/SQL package.
About this task
Data Studio automatically migrates the format of a routine
file from Optim Development Studio Version 2.2.1 or earlier
when a change is made to the routine or if you deploy a routine with Data Studio and the deployment causes the routine to be modified and
saved. To manually change the routine file format to the Data Studio format, open the routine in the routine editor,
edit it, and save the routine.
Routine
files created with Optim Development
Studio Version 2.2.1.1 do not require migration.
Procedure
To migrate routine files with Data Studio:
- Open a workspace.
- In the Data Project Explorer, browse to a project folder
that contains stored procedures, user-defined functions, or PL/SQL
packages.
If you browse to project files in an other
view like the Project Explorer, the stored procedure files have the
file extension spxmi, the user-defined function files have the file
extension udfxmi, and PL/SQL package files have the file extension
pkgxmi.
- Open the routine file with the routine editor, make a change
to the routine, and save the routine.
Results
After you migrate a routine to
Data Studio,
you cannot use the routine with Optim Development Studio
Version 2.2.1 or earlier.
