You can select the XSL version
and root element used by default when you create a new XSL file.
About this task
On the XSL preference page, you can set the following
default attributes for new XSL files:
- The XSL version (version 1.0 or version 2.0).
- The root element. The root element is used to define the namespace
used by the XSL style sheet and the version of XSL being used in the
document.
Procedure
- Click .
- Select either Version 1.0 or Version
2.0 to as the default XSL version used for new XSL files.
- Select Use <xsl:stylesheet> if
you want to use xsl:stylesheet as your default style sheet root element,
or select Use <xsl:transform> to use xsl:transform
as your default style sheet root element. Both root element
have the exact same meaning and syntax. You can use whichever one
you prefer.
- Click Apply, then OK to
save your changes.
Results
If you change the XSL preferences, root element, existing
XSL files are not affected by the changes; the preferences only apply
to the default settings for new XSL files. In new XSL files you create,
you can choose to not use the default preference for XSL version or
root element.
