After you install and deploy the IMS™ TM
resource adapter on WebSphere® Application
Server, create a
connection factory for the IMS TM
resource adapter, if
it does not already exist.
Before you begin
The connection factory is used by one or more applications
to create connections between IMS and IMS Connect.
Prerequisite: Start the WebSphere Application
Server, and log in
to the WebSphere Application
Server administrative
console.

To create a connection factory for the
IMS TM
resource adapter:
Procedure
- In the WebSphere Application
Server administrative
console, click to expand .
- Click Resource adapters.
- Click the name of the IMS TM
resource adapter that
you deployed and want to create a connection factory for.
- In the Additional Properties section, select J2C
connection factories.
- Click New, and in the Name field,
type a name for the connection factory. For example, myIMSTMRA.
- Specify the JNDI name if necessary.
- Click Apply.
- Click Save at the top of the page.
- Click the name of the connection factory that you just
created, myIMSTMRA. The Configuration page opens.
- In the Configuration page, in the column under Additional
Properties, click Custom properties.
- Click the fields to fill in the values to configure your
connection factory. Host name, port number, and data store name must
be configured.
- When you are done configuring the properties, click Save at
the top of the page.
- Stop the server and restart it to see the new connection
factory.
