There are some IMS™ MFS
features that are not supported in IMS MFS
SOA support.
- The following MFS features are not supported:
- Asynchronous messages
- Device cursor
- Device field literals other than system literals
- Extended Graphic Character Set (EGCS), excluding
Double Byte Character Set (DBCS)
- Fill defined in DOF and MOD
- PF keys that map to control functions and PA keys. If an IMS command is specified as a PF
key that maps to literal data, then the command must be supported
by OTMA.
- IMS system-generated MFS
parameters such as PAGDEL
- Physical Paging
- Magnetic strip reading device
- Message option 1, 2, 3
- MFS bypass
- MFS buffer pool
- MFS Field Edit routine (DFSME000)
- MFS Field Exit routine
- MFS pool manager
- MFS Segment Edit routine (DFSME127)
- Multi-segment messages
- Operator control table
- Operator logical paging
- PA1 key to advance to the next physical page
- PA2 key to advance to the next message
- PA3 key (Copy to the local printer)
- Password
- Programmed symbols (for example, scientific or technical symbols)
- PT (Program tab) fill
- Selector pen
- System control area (SCA)
- System literal defined for anything other than date, time, and
LPAGENO
- $$IMSDIR (Resident directory)
- The following device types are not supported:
- 2740 or 2741
- 3270P
- 3600 or 4700
- DPM-An
- DPM-Bn
- FIN
- FIDS, FIDS3, FIDS4 or FIDS7
- FIJP, FIPB or FIFP
- SCS1
- SCS2
- SLU-P
- The following statements are not supported, but are tolerated
for syntax checking only:
- EJECT
- PD
- PDB
- PDBEND
- PPAGE
- PRINT
- RCD
- SPACE
- TITLE
