Web services bindings

A set of bindings is a named object that is associated with a specific policy set and service resource attached to the policy set. Bindings contain information that is specific to an environment and platform.
Bindings contain the following types of information: Typically, bindings are specific to an application or a platform, which implies that bindings are not normally shared. There exists a set of default bindings that can be used by all policy sets. Custom bindings, however, are defined within an application. One binding is associated with one reference to a policy set; this association is a one-to-one relationship.
You must configure a binding for each of these policy types: You do not need to configure a binding for the following policy types: These two policy types have no properties that can be configured. In a given policy set, these policy types are either included and enabled, or excluded or disabled.
