If you change the Target Runtime
settings on a project to a WebSphere® Application Server, for example by right-clicking
a project and selecting , the WebSphere Application Server
extensions and binding elements may not display in the deployment
descriptor editors.
About this task
To display the WebSphere Application Server extensions
and binding elements in the deployment descriptor editors, you need
to add the WebSphere Application
Server facets to the project. When changing the Target Runtimes settings
on a project to a WebSphere Application Server, the workbench does not automatically add the WebSphere Application Server
facets to the project.
Procedure
- In the Enterprise Explorer view, right-click on the project,
select Properties, and select Project
Facets in the left pane of the window.
- On the Project Facets page, click Modify Project.
- Click the Runtimes tab.
- Under the runtimes list, specify the matching version level
of the server as a target runtime setting for your project, such as WebSphere Application Server
V7.0, V8.0 or V8.5.
- In the Project Facet table, select the WebSphere
projectType (Extended) or WebSphere projectType
(Co-existence) or both check boxes, depending on the type
of the project you are modifying.
- For each WebSphere Application Server facet selected, under the Version column
specify the matching version level of the target runtime setting for
your project, such as 7.0 , 8.0 or 8.5:
- Click Finish.
