You add a connection factory to the J2C resource adapter.
Web applications request functions from J2C style connectors by first
performing a lookup of its associated connection factory using a specific
JNDI name.
About this task
This task begins at the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server Administrative
console.
To add a J2C connection factory to the IMS™ TM resource
adapter:
Procedure
- From the WebSphere Application Server administrative
console contents pane, expand Resources and
then click .
- Click IMS TM resource
adapter.
- Under the Additional Properties heading,
click J2C connection factories.
- Click New. Enter a name for the
connection and a name for the JNDI.
Tip: You
can name the connection factory anything, but give the connection
and corresponding JNDI the same name.
- For the Provider field, ensure that the IMS TM resource
adapter is selected.
- Click OK and then Save in
the Messages box at the top of the pane.
- Click the name of connection factory you created.
- Under Additional Properties, select Custom
properties. Click the HostName, PortNumber,
and DataStoreName property names and change
their values to reflect your environment. Click OK and
then click Save.
