This sample creates a J2C Java™ bean for an IMS™ phonebook
transaction.
You need to set up your phonebook transaction in your IMS in order to access the phonebook
record from the IMS server. Contact
your IMS system administrator
for the setup. When you import the sample, it will create the appropriate
Web projects with a test program that you can test and explore. For
instructions on how to do this, click
Setup instructions.
To use the sample, click Import sample, and save the compressed file to a directory on your workstation.
After downloading the sample, import the sample project into your
workspace: Click , and then
click Browse to find the downloaded sample
project file.

Restriction: This sample does not run
on IBM® WebSphere® Application Server Developer
Tools for Eclipse.
This sample might require some optionally
installable components. If you encounter errors or cannot find user
interface options when you run the sample, ensure that you installed
the appropriate optional components:
- IBM® WebSphere® Application Server, V7.0, V8.0, or V8.5.
- J2EE Connector (J2C) tools. To install J2C tools, follow these
steps:
- Open Installation Manager.
- Click Modify, and click Next.
- In the Modify Packages page, select IBM Software Deliver
Platform, and click Next.
- In the Features list, select IBM Rational Application
Developer for WebSphere Software , and click Next.
- On the Install Packages page, select .
- Click Install.
To use this sample, you must have an application server installed
and configured. To verify that a server runtime environment is available,
click . You can use this pane to add, remove, or edit installed
server runtime definitions. You can also download and install support
for a new server.
