The following section explains the ideas of licensing

Downloading


  1. Navigate to Supportal.
  2. Log in as the user that was assigned the license.
  3. Click Teams/Users.
  4. Click the blue page left of the license ID.
  5. Click Download.
  6. Save the downloaded license .txt file to a remembered location.

Installing the License

  1. Log into your uDeploy server.
  2. Navigate to the Settings Tab > Licenses
    • If you currently are using any license that is not a production license, best practice is to remove it and restart the uDeploy server before moving on to the next step.
  3. Click Add New License.
  4. Open the previously downloaded license.txt.
  5. Copy the contents.
  6. Paste the contents into the Add New License box's "license" field.
  7. Add a description to the license if you like.
  8. Click save.

Agent Licensing Mechanics

The uDeploy server has options for automatically or manually managing the licensing of Agents. Automatic management is the default setting for handling licensing. This can be changed at the Settings Tab > System Settings. If automatic licensing is checked, any new agent that connects to the uDeploy server will receive a license. If the agent has connected before the production license was added, or you are intentionally managing licensing manually, follow the following steps to add a license to a connected agent:

  1. Navigate to the Settings Tab > Licenses.
  2. Click Assign Agents.
  3. Choose the Agents that need licenses.
  4. Click OK.
