System Requirements

Rational System Architect XT Requirement

The Rational System Architect Process Integrator requires that Rational System Architect® XT™ 11.3.1.2 is installed on the network, which must be installed with the command line, as specified in the 'SA Process Integrator Installation Guide' (the installation guide is located in your installation package and in the Rational System Architect Information Center, at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/rsdp/v1r0m0/index.jsp). However, a Rational System Architect Process Integrator (SA PI) session does not consume SA XT licenses. Instead, SA PI uses the SA XT technology as a bridge between Microsoft® Visio® and Rational System Architect encyclopedias.

Operating System Locales Supported by Rational System Architect Process Integrator 11.3.1.2

Rational System Architect Process Integrator is supported on English locales. Specific tests are performed on the English versions of the Windows operating systems listed above.



Guidelines for Installing Rational System Architect Process Integrator

Requirements for Installing on Windows Vista SP1

If you install Rational System Architect Process Integrator on Windows Vista SP1, the following requirements for Microsoft Visio apply:

The following sections contain guidelines for Rational System Architect Process Integrator 2003 and Rational System Architect Process Integrator 2007. Please follow the steps in the section that corresponds to the version of Rational System Architect Process Integrator that you want to install.

To install Rational System Architect Process Integrator 2003, proceed as follows:

  1. Ensure your environment has Microsoft’s Office 2003 and Visio 2003.
  2. Open the folder onto which you downloaded Rational System Architect Process Integrator 2003. The file name is SA_ProcessIntegerator_Visio2003_11.3.1.2.zip.
  3. Extract the zip file to your folder of choice. The zip file you extract contains three executable files.
  4. Click on the dotnetfx.exe file to install the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0. If an earlier version of the Framework is installed, the 2.0 installation will leave that version intact and will therefore not affect other programs that may be using that older version.
  5. Click on the vstor.exe file. This installs the required 'Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Second Edition Runtime'.
  6. Click the setup.exe file to install the Rational System Architect Process Integrator 2003.
  7. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the installation. Note, when prompted for a license, you must enter a Node-lock license or License server location.

To install Rational System Architect Process Integrator 2007, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the folder onto which you downloaded the Rational System Architect Process Integrator 2007 file. The file name is SA_ProcessIntegrator_Visio2007_11.3.1.2.exe.
  2. Click on the SA_ProcessIntegrator_Visio2007_11.3.1.2.exe file.
  3. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the installation. Note, when prompted for a license, you must enter a Node-lock license or License server location.

To obtain a Rational System Architect Process Integrator 11.3.1.2 license please contact your IBM Sales Account Manager.
