This file contains pre-installation and installation instructions for installing
the Supply Chain Operations Reference model (SCOR) for use with IBM Rational System
Architect.

Installing System Architect
For SCOR Interface
Administrative Privileges on system are required during installation.
Installation overview
The encyclopedia is supplied as a SQL Server backup file (*.bak extension) suitable for
SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 (including SQL Express) and is restored using the SAEM or SQL Server Management Tools.
1. Extract the SCOR8.0_Licensed.bak file
to a suitable folder.
2. Start the utility ‘SAEM’,
this is the System Architect Encyclopedia Manager, or alternatively use any
other SQL Server manager utility. The following instructions apply to
SAEM.
3. Using the Server > Connect options select a suitable Server to connect to from the presented dropdown list of available Servers.
4. Select the appropriate Authentication mode and click OK to login.
5. From the Database menu, select the Restore
From File… menu item.
6. In the Restore database as: field specify a name for the encyclopedia that
it is to be restored as.
7. Browse to the location where the
extracted encyclopedia backup file resides, select it and click on Open.
Proceed to click on OK to
restore the encyclopedia.
Opening Encyclopedia Instructions
1. Run
System Architect.
2. To gain access to the restored
encyclopedia, from the menu select File
> Open Encyclopedia > Existing tab
3. From the drop
down Connection: dialog identify the
name of the server that the encyclopaedia was restored to. A list of encyclopedias
that are held on that particular server will be presented.
4. Select the encyclopedia that was
restored and click on OK to proceed
to open the encyclopedia.
SCOR
Reference Model notes
Existing meta-model objects have been used wherever there is compatibility
between the SCOR artefacts and System Architect artefacts. This facilitates
integration with existing modelling methods that are supported in System
Architect.
The table below shows the mappings between the SCOR model artefacts and
their equivalent representation in System Architect.

Obtaining a license
for System Architect For SCOR Interface
The intellectual Property Rights for the SCOR models remain with the SCOR
Council, the content contained within the encyclopedia is provided on a
licensed basis. Licenses are provided for free for SCOR members, non members
will need to contact their Sales Account Manager.
