Compatible Products

All Rational System Architect supporting products, such as Rational System Architect XT, Rational System Architect Compare, Rational System Architect Publisher and Rational System Architect Catalog Manager must be at the same exact version as Rational System Architect, so if you upgrade Rational System Architect, you must upgrade these other products as well. These supporting products are uninstalled and installed automatically by the Rational System Architect installer. The only supporting product that does not need to be upgraded along with an upgrade of Rational System Architect is SA Viewer, part of Rational System Architect Simulator II.

Rational System Architect integrates with other Rational products as follows:

Rational System Architect XT - You can now install Rational System Architect XT on the same computer as Rational System Architect. Among the key requirements are the following:

  1. Make sure you uninstall earlier Rational System Architect versions from your computer.
  2. Download Rational System Architect V11.3.

Changing default diagram properties for 'MoDAF AcV-2 Acquisition Progamme'
All values in the 'Behavior' tab of the 'MoDAF AcV-2 Acquisition Progamme' diagram properties are set to 'F' by default. You can change them to 'T' by default by inserting the code below into the encyclopedia's USRPROPS.TXT file, as follows:

  1. In Rational System Architect, open the encyclopedia you wish to modify.
  2. Click Tools and select Encyclopedia File Manager.
  3. Click Export file, select USRPROPS.TXT and click the '...' (ellipsis) button to the right of the External file name field.
  4. Select a target folder, name the file USRPROPS.TXT and click Save.
  5. Click Export and click OK in the confirmation dialog.
  6. Click Exit.
  7. With a text Editor open the exported USRPROPS.TXT file and insert the following code:

    DIAGRAM "AcV-2 Acquisition Programme"
    {
    PROPERTY "MilestonesAndPhaseColorsBasedOnTopmostProject" { DEFAULT "T" }
    PROPERTY "ShowPinkAsPreMilestoneColorOnly" { DEFAULT "T" }
    PROPERTY "RulesCheckBasedOnTopmostProject" { DEFAULT "T" }
    PROPERTY "RunRulesCheckAutomatically" { DEFAULT "T" }
    }

    Each PROPERTY above is a field name in the 'Behavior' tab of the 'MoDAF AcV-2 Acquisition Progamme' Diagram Properties dialog. When enabled, the properties behave as described by their field names below. When not enabled, they behave as otherwise described. The field names are as follows:

  1. Save and close the USRPROPS.TXT file.
  2. In Rational System Architect, click Tools and select Encyclopedia File Manager.
  3. In the Destination encyclopedia field, click the '...' button, select the encyclopedia and click OK.
  4. In the Action group, select Import file.
  5. In the External file name field, click the '...' button, select the USRPROPS.TXT file that you edited and click Open.
  6. Click Import.
  7. Click OK in the confirmation dialog and click Exit.
  8. Reopen the encyclopedia for the new default values to take effect when you create new MoDAF AcV-2 Acquisition Progamme diagrams.

    Optionally, to have new encyclopedias you create use the new default values, copy the USRPROPS.TXT file that you edited to the Rational System Architect application folder (usually C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\System Architect Suite\11.3\System Architect).
