System requirements

To run Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface 2.0 you need:

  • One of the following operating systems installed on your computer:
    • Windows XP Professional SP3
    • Windows Vista Enterprise Edition SP1
    • Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition

At the time of writing, the third party products tested with Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface 2.0 are:

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0
  • Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
  • Sybase Powerbuilder 10.5

Operating system locales supported by Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface 2.0

The Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface is certified only in the C locale. Telelogic supports use in any locale using the Latin-1 character set or the Windows extension CP 1252; however, such locales have not been tested. Use in locales using non-Latin-1 character sets is not supported.

Compatible products

·         Telelogic Synergy 7.0


Installing Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface 2.0

·         To start the installation process, double click the Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface.msi. See documentation for details.

·         For Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio file types need to be installed into each Telelogic Synergy database. See documentation for details.

·         For PowerBuilder, PowerBuilder file types need to be installed into each Telelogic Synergy database. See documentation for details.

·         For Visual C++ Interface, Synergy toolbar will be installed and the user needs to customize to get the Studio Bar. See documentation for details.

·         CCM_HOME environment variable must be set in order to work properly for the Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface 2.0. The CCM_HOME environment variable is set automatically during the installation. User should not remove or alter manually.

·         For PowerBuilder Interface, you must configure PowerBuilder to use JRE 1.6. Follow these instructions to configure:

1.       Install JRE 1.6.

2.       Rename the existing JRE folder from PowerBuilder under the PowerBuilder installation directory.
By default, it is C:\Program Files\Sybase\Shared\PowerBuilder\jdk1.4.2_06\jre.

For example, rename
C:\Program Files\Sybase\Shared\PowerBuilder\jdk1.4.2_06\jre
to
C:\Program Files\Sybase\Shared\PowerBuilder\jdk1.4.2_06\jre_org

3.       Replace the JRE with the JRE 1.6 under the PowerBuilder installation directory.
By default, it is C:\Program Files\Sybase\Shared\PowerBuilder\jdk1.4.2_06\jre.

What's new in version 2.0

  • Support Telelogic Synergy 7.0.
  • Version 2.0 works with Telelogic Synergy client rather than Telelogic Synergy classic client.


Known problems

·         A warning message will show during uninstalling Telelogic Synergy 7.0 if uninstall Telelogic Synergy 7.0 before Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface 2.0.

Warning message: “Environment variable CCM_HOME is set to <path>. This may cause problem during installation.”

·         For Telelogic Synergy for Microsoft Source Code Control Interface with PowerBuilder 10.5. The Library Painter and System Tree do not reflect the correct status of the library entries after you check in your current task. You should perform Refresh Status from PowerBuilder by selecting the corresponding PBL file in the Library Painter.
