System requirements

To run Telelogic Change 5.1 server you need:

• One of the following operating systems installed on your computer:
  
  • IBM® AIX® 5.3
  • Red Hat® Enterprise Linux 4® (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • Solaris® 9
  • Solaris 10
  • Windows® Server 2003 R2 Standard or Enterprise Edition (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • Windows XP Professional SP3
  • VMware® ESX Server™ 3.5 running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard or Enterprise Edition (32-bit or 64-bit)
  
  
• The minimum hardware requirements are:
  
  • A multi-processor or multi-core processor server class machine
  • 1 GB RAM for the Telelogic Change server
  • 15 MB RAM for each Telelogic® Synergy™ session
  • 200 MB free disk space
  
  
• Telelogic Synergy 7.0 must be installed and operational
• Telelogic® Directory Server™ 4.3 must be installed and operational
• Telelogic® License Server™ 1.5 must be installed and operational

Note: Telelogic Change uses a Java™ applet as part of its integration with Telelogic Synergy (to launch Telelogic Synergy dialogs, such as history and compare, from show forms and reports). Java 6 or higher is required on the client machine to use this feature.

Operating system locales supported by Telelogic Change 5.1

Telelogic Change is certified only in the C locale. IBM supports use in any locale using the Latin-1 character set or the Windows extension CP 1252; however, such locales have not been tested. Use in locales using non-Latin-1 character sets is not supported. Telelogic Change provides configurable date formats that are independent of locale; it does not adapt messages, numeric formats, or sorting orders according to the locale.

Installing Telelogic Change 5.1

Note: One of the new features as of version 5.0—central server mode—is only supported for new deployments. Currently, there is no upgrade path from a stand-alone server (which includes all previous versions of the product prior to 5.0) to a central server configuration.

• When downloading from the website, the installation image is available in two formats.

  • change51.zip: If you have access to WinZip®, download and unzip this file.
  • change51.tar.gz: Otherwise, download this file and follow the steps below.
    1. Set the CCM_HOME environment variable to point to your Telelogic Synergy installation.
    2. Unzip and untar the file:
       $CCM_HOME/bin/util/ccm_unzip < change51.tar.gz | $CCM_HOME/bin/util/bsdtar xf -

Obtaining a license for Telelogic Change

A new license is required for Telelogic Change 5.1.

Telelogic Change 5.1 uses the Telelogic License Server. The Telelogic License Server is a FLEXlm-based license server that you can use to provide licenses to various Telelogic products. You must upgrade or install the Telelogic License Server to use Telelogic Change 5.1. See Telelogic Lifecycle Solutions Licensing for detailed information.

• Compatibility with Telelogic Directory Server 4.3

Support and information for Telelogic products is currently being transitioned from the Telelogic Support site to the IBM Rational Software Support site. During this transition phase, your product support location depends on your customer history.

• If you are a heritage customer, meaning you were a Telelogic customer prior to November 1, 2008, please visit the Telelogic Change Support site.
